Satisfaction from resident and family

My mother lived for 12 years at the LM Terrace, independent apts. She loved the people and staff there! They provide such a variety of activities available for those with different interests, opportunities for residents to gather or participate. During CoVid, they were conservative in practice and provided good communication to residents and family. Whenever I have contacted them with questions, I always received follow up to my satisfaction - a very caring group with best interest of the residents at heart!

Enjoyable Life at Luther Manor

Upon moving to Luther Manor in July of 2019, we were immediately greeted by a host of friendly people who shortly became our friends. Since we had always been active in our church choir, we joined the newly reconstituted Luther Manor mixed chorus. Our first performances centered around the holidays and church services. We were invited to join the Cribbage Card Club which quickly became a favorite activity. We had inherited a Cribbage Board decades ago and had never learned to play the game. Playing cribbage became an enjoyable part of our weekly routine. Our daily mile-long walks around the beautifully landscaped grounds of our campus help to keep us fit and aware of God's beautiful creation. We appreciate the many and varied activities offered at Luther Manor as well as the option of returning to our spacious apartment when we want to relax alone.

Why did I not move sooner?

Being new to Luther Manor, I was nervous to make the transition amid these covid times. I have to say it is the best decision I have made thus far since and only ask myself "Why did not do this sooner?" There are many moving parts to navigate through however, the onsite team has helped make this move seamless and I am not alone anymore. I give my children the piece of mind to know that I am safe and well taken care of.

I'm Not Alone Anymore

I moved into Luther Manor when I was 74. My husband had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years back, so we entered Luther Manor because it offered continuem care. We lived in a senior independent apartment together for ten months, until his dementia became difficult for me to care for him anymore. He was moved into the Special Care unit. After fifty-seven years, I was alone. I preferred living here instead of my lake home in Fond du Lac County. I found another family with the residents here. Our Activity leader presents many programs and movies for our pleasure and activity. Some of the men use a workshop in our lower level. I found shuffleboard and joined their league. We play sheepshead and many other games and puzzles. But then, Covid came. We all feel very safe as we've only had five positive cases since February and those family residents were moved to another unit to recover from the Covid. We all like it here. Our Activity leader has scaled down our activities to fit into the Covid rules while we wear our fashionable masks all the time. We continue to dine daily in our dining room, socialize in smaller groups, engage in our Book Club and life goes on in our home, now our Manor.

Luther Manor Appreciates Seniors!!

My mother is a resident of Luther Manor for 12 years in her independent living apartment. Frequently she tells me,”I feel safe here. They take good care of me”. Recently she requires more help but she can stay in her apartment because she can receive extra nursing services. Before Covid she enjoyed the variety of programs, (the travelogues, music concerts, arts and crafts, guest speakers), volunteered for the Christmas Bazaar, played games with friends, and attended church there. She could eat every meal with my father when he lived in Health Care since she lived walking distance away. And she took him to many of the LM activities. (He passed in 2015 from stroke complications) She was happy with his care and they appreciated being able to spend their final years together. As the daughter, I’m very pleased with the responsiveness of the staff, the respect shown to us, the superior facilities and overall caring environment. This place celebrates seniors!!

My Dad loved Luther Manor and so did we his family

My Dad lived at Luther Manor for 2.5 years. He loved it. He loved the staff. They were friendly and kind. They encouraged him and he really enjoyed his life there. He was asked to pray for Bible studies and that meant so much to him. He painted beautiful bird houses. Socializing with other residents was so meaningful to him. Being asked to be a "greeter"resident for new residents also meant so much to him and to us. He was honored for his volunteerism and proudly displayed that framed award. He appreciated being able to shop and select gifts for his grandchildren at the shops. He often would say with a smile that he got the best haircuts of his life at Luther Manor. We his family are most appreciative to Luther Manor for their excellent care.

Tour and options

We toured his community for my mom's care. The community is clean, and the environment is nice. They had a good list of activities that are available for the residents who want to participate. We would recommend that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

Options for care

We toured this community for care. We did like the staff. The feeling was not what we were looking. They offer a lot of variety in the meals. They do have a list of activities that are offered. They have differing levels of care. We did not like that there was an odor in the community. The showers did not look safe for someone to use. We would suggest a tour for families for the care of a loved one

Peace of Mind for Myself, My Mother is in Good Hands

This has worked out to be an amazing move for my mother. Her move to this community had provided me with a peace of mind knowing she is in good hands. They did a great job with welcoming her into the community. She was set up with a buddy that showed her around the community. When she needs helps with something, someone is always there to help to her. She stays activities, and busy. She even invites her existing friends, to come met her new ones. It has been a lovely experience for us in this community, and I would highly recommend it.

Great community for memory care!

The staff that offered the tour of the community Luther Manor at River Oaks were very friendly. They were able to address all of my concerns. They were very informative and shared that they offered a lot for the residents. They are a larger community offering more opportunity for the residents to socialize. They offer a number of activities for the residents to enjoy. They have a schedule for bathing and cleaning the rooms to ensure its completed.

Excellent Community

My mother is doing great since her move into The Courtyards. We are very impressed with this community it is a wonderful place. The community is very nice looking and smells great. The staff has been helpful and kind to us. They are very outgoing and attentive to the residents. The food is good and my mother has even gained some weight and started to eat more now. This is a excellent community that I would love to recommend.

An opinion on Why Luther Manor?

Mom, age 92, has lived at Luther Manor for 6 yrs now and loves it! When preparing to move her out of her home, we looked at many options but kept coming back to Luther Manor- its value/affordability, well managed grounds and updated apartments, activities, reputation, and even location. It was naturally emotional for her to leave her home but once she settled in, she remarked that she “should have moved in sooner”. We agreed and wished she had too! She is rarely home as she likes to keep busy- works at the Manor Mart, goes to movies, exercise, Bible study and volunteers for anything despite current Covid limitations. Mom already knew some folks who lived at Luther Manor but has made many new friends. You cannot walk around without seeing someone with a smile or greeting you. There is a very positive vibe at Luther Manor - one that you can pick up right away. That was very reassuring to us and helped confirm Luther Manor was the right choice. We have had no concerns re safety, recognize their quality caring staff and activities-services. We celebrated Mom’s 90th birthday, with about 70 family members coming from around the country. We had the use of the Faith & Education (chapel) building and had nothing but positive impressions from our relatives. It was such a special time and the staff helped make it so! Mom was so proud to show off her “place”. Of course, COVID has impacted senior living in all types of ways- from dining to activities to many more subtle ways. Luther Manor has been extraordinarily vigilant in protecting all of its residents and also been sensitive to the needs of their residents and their families to keep connected. Their communications/updates have been outstanding and administration is attentive and responsive to resident and family concerns. As a family, we would recommend Luther Manor to anyone as it has been a blessing to Mom these past yrs and having Mom there gives us reassurance that she will be cared for in whatever circumstance she finds herself in the coming years. That peace of mind is “priceless”!

Toured the facility. People seem very nice and facility looked nice. The rooms in the "newer" part looked nice and more up-to-date than Hart Park Square. Did not like the bathroom with a cut away tub in the "older" part. Full spectrum of care with independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehab. Can provide supportive care in apartment before moving to assisted living. With endowment they guarantee whatever care you need for rest of life. They will assist with Medicare and then their foundation will cover any balance of care. Facility is very large with 300 apartments, 100 assisting living and 100 skilled nursing. Two cafeterias and a "cafe."

A place to look at!

This community did not offer the type of apartment we were looking for. It is more like a small open room. The staff stress that they like the residents to get out and socialize. The staff we met were nice and the community was clean. This community is like a miniature town within itself and I thought this might be overwhelming for my loved one.

This is a nice community, and my tour of it was a pretty good one. The staff was kind to my family, and myself. From what I saw the community looked nice, and well-kept. It was a good experience, but it wasn't the community for my parents.

Right by me!

I thought that this community was just fine. I was able to take a walk around and liked it. Again we were looking for assisted living and this did not provide the amount of care mom needed. Also the location was to far. Wanted to keep mom close.

Luther Manor offered a much smaller room for the same price as other places we looked at.
