Our families experience

Canyon View was an excellent facility. My father had a cat and they were the only facility I found that would take my father and his cat. After my father passed they even kept my father's cat and another resident adopted him. I would love to help out. The staff is so friendly and truly care for the residents! Residents with special dietary needs were all served the foods their diets required. I was impressed the residents were all at the dinner table together for meals. It was nice to see them together at meals.

Excellent service

After looking at over six different residential assisted living facilities, Canyon View Residential Care won the prize. The private and shared rooms are large with plenty of natural light, great floor plans, close to our home. My mother-in-law has moderate dementia and is heading into severe dementia stages. She also has osteoarthritis and severe degenerative disease in both knees and is unable to walk as well as a frozen shoulder in her right shoulder. She is a vegan, lactose intolerant and has Factor 13. What separates Canyon View from all the other facilities is the staff and ownership. The administrator is on site and is the daughter of the owners. The wife is a registered nurse and visits the facility daily. Both owners and staff are very thorough and professional. The staff took my mother-in-law in with open arms and made her feel welcomed. They are on top of every resident there with top notch care. So glad they had an opening. Five Star Rating: *****

Highly recommend

The staff and the care here were absolutely great, the only reason we had to move my loved one out is because ended up needing to have 24 hour care provided. I would highly recommend Castlemere Senior Home to others.

Highly recommend

We chose Castlemere because of the location and the way that we were welcomed to them. We had some experience years ago with my father as well so we came in with a good reputation. The room sizes are very good, they have huge double rooms and my mom had a single that was very spacious. They did a great job with communication and we were able to still come and go as we pleased even with covid going on. They were amazing and I would highly recommend them.

A wonderful place for dad!

The care my dad is receiving at Canyon View's Via Castanet residence is excellent. All of the caregivers are caring, patient and gentle when they interact with all of the residents. It is nice to see dad eating his meals with the residents at the table and interacting with them. Dad even has his cat living with him and he is happy too! What a wonderful place! Lots of love and everyone is treated like family!

I searched all over the Santa Clarita Valley looking for a Board and Care for our mother. They were full, dirty or just not what she wanted. Canyon View was clean, the staff is friendly, they communicate with you and my mom has a roommate that she can communicate with. They have a patio the residents can sit out on with a nice landscaped backyard.

The community was clean and...

The community was clean and organized. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and extremely helpful with both answering questions and providing suggestions. Esther was especially impressive with her compassion and concern for the overall wellness of the residents and her willingness to accommodate menu preferences. There were no activities, however, and it was not very light/bright in the living area.

Amazing girls, ever so sweet

It gives her everything she wants. It is very different from where she was before because it is a boarding care, they're very nice but they don't have the sam ekind of activities. The people there are very attentive, very nice. My mom is very stubborn and she loves it because the girls are ever so gentle and they're so sweet. I go in and visit unnanounced all the time and there's always someone talking to her and they're always so nice. There's 5 siblings in my family and we're all very happy with it. It's clean, its nice and most important I like the meals; its an intimate neough group where they eat together and its just pleasant, very homey. I only wish that they would do something for the holidays so it isn't a thing where one day rolls into another. She's very happy with it and we're very happy with it.

Very friendly environment with very courteous staff. My primary concern was that there wasn't any active residents....everyone was sleeping or listless in their chair or bed. This was not an environment that I want my mother to be in. She needs stimulating conversations with people.

The staff was friendly enough but the overall mood of the house was kind of depressed. There was no real activity. Interaction and activity might help minimize the anxiety of the residents with dementia

No food for the soul

Residents are fed and changed. They're taken out of bed for meals and a couple sit in their wheelchairs in the living room, but there is no social interaction whatsoever. I was at another Board and Care and the women working there were loving and kind and always talking to the ladies and asking them if they needed anything and telling them that they were beautiful and that they loved them and the ladies really thrived with that care. Completely different atmosphere at Canyon View. They do their job and nothing more.
