My sister was at Berwyn Home for a year a received horrific treatment there. Our family members were compelled to check on her multiple times a week to ensure her safety. Staff repeatedly told us she was "fine' and that we need to lower our standards. In reality she was hospitalized multiple times, and in the end ended up in intensive care for 10 days at at hospital and spent weeks in rehab recovering from their negligence. She had dehydration, malnutrition, UTI, over 30+ pounds of fluid build up and bruises all over her body. Total lack of care and empathy from most employees. Entire house is in disrepair and dirty. Yard is a shambles. Empolyee(s) smoking marijuana; coming to work smelling of it and spent joints in a coffee can on back patio. No healthy or nutritious food served; one night the supper was five pieces of pepperoni and potato chips; multiple lunches were corn dogs, potato chips, jello/pudding.
