My Tour Experience at Creekstone

Creekstone was a really nice community when I toured the community. My loved one would have been the worst resident if my loved one moved into the community.

A beautiful community

Creekstone community has been such a refreshing and wonderful experience compared to the last place our loved one was at. The staff members there are very caring, kind, and understanding of our loved ones situation. The meals are prepared right in front of the residents which is awesome. The community feels very homey, nothing about it gives off nursing home feel. The staff all work really well together, the cleanliness is superior and we would definitely recommend to other families.

Highly Recommend

They make the residents feel at at home. When we take my mom out and bring her back, they say "Welcome home!" and call her by name, and that makes her feel like it really is her home. They're very good about getting back to you if you have any questions, both the administrator and assistant administrator. We've also had a lot of interaction with the head nurse and her team. They're also very quick about getting back to us. The facility is almost like a five star hotel. The food smells delicious every time I walk in, and they serve a good variety. They're very accommodating to my mom's preferences. Pre-Covid, you could pay $5 and eat lunch or dinner with them, which I can't wait to do again. The staff are all very good at what they do, and are I think they genuinely really like their jobs. I would highly recommend Cottage Grove.

Just like living at home

We chose Creekstone because we liked the model. It is not a medical model, it is a home. It is 4 houses that back up to each other to form a square. Inside the square is a patio that all the houses share and it has a fountain and gazebo, it is beautiful. The house has a beautiful kitchen with an open floor plan. Their staff to resident ratio is 1 to 5. Each resident has their own bathroom and they can decorate their rooms as they would like. The breakfast meals are not on a set schedule which is nice. After talking with the chef, he was very good about putting things on the menu that my mother likes, he is very accommodating. They have a lovely screened in front porch that can fit 14 people. They allow pets as long as the pet is one they have had for years, so my mom was able to bring her dog. They do also have to be able to mostly care for their pet. I would definitely recommend them to others who are looking.

Professional Excellence

This community was fabulous. I already have told friends. I highly recommend the Cottage Grove. The staff are over the top. They are caring. I was very pleased. My loved one was there for a little over 11 months. The food was pretty good and I would stay for lunch on occasions. The room was nice and had it's own private bath.

Highly recommended

We chose Creekstone because of the recommendations we received from others. The rooms are very good sized. Bathrooms are large and handicap accessible. The food is excellent, they cook it right there in the kitchen so its fresh and hot. It is served restaurant style. If there is something they cannot care for, they recommend something for us. My favorite part about the community would be the staff members, they become family and go above and beyond to take care of their residents.

A great place for mom

We chose this community because it was more homey feeling. The other places we looked at were more institutional and cold. There was a more personal feel and we knew the care here was going to be good. They also have a smaller staff to resident ratio. The room sizes are great with plenty of storage and everyone has their own bathroom. The bathroom is good sized and handicap accessible. My mother in law has been eating things she never ate before. They involve all the residents in the food choices that are on the menu each week. The residents can see the food being cooked and are able to help cook sometimes. They do special things for example they come in and do all the ladies nails each week. Our favorite part about the community has been the friendly feel. I would absolutely recommend.

Satisfied

We feel my mom is getting awesome care here. They are able to take good care of her. They are always on top of keeping the community clean. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, they have been on top of keeping the residents safe. The staff is very friendly, I feel that I can call at any time and they will answer my questions and are very welcoming. The care giving staff clearly is trained well and know what they're doing and on top of that are all compassionate. They have two activities directors that come up with things for the residents to engage in and the staff does a good job of getting the residents to participate. They have exercise classes, movies, reading time, and more. Creekstone is expensive, however we feel it is worth the cost for the level of care the residents are reviving. One of the most important things that we appreciate about Creekstone is the level of communication they maintain. They are very good about posting photos on Facebook, FaceTiming my dad so he can see my mom, and even providing a monthly newsletter.

Comfortable Place to Live

The homelike environment is supportive and accepting. The staff provides both activities and the much needed routine of daily life. My resident has early onset dementia and benefits from not having squawking PA systems and non-stop televisions that are present in other facilities. The staff knows her preferences and she is free to make her own choices. In enhanced memory care, there is extra attention paid to personal care and grooming for those who need assistance.

Very Happy here

This is a smaller community with 12 resident so you get personal attention. The place is spotless and a very homelike feeling. They have a room set to the side for the families to gather and we had her 95th birthday there. They wash all their clothes separately so this is really nice. They have really good homemade food there. If you want they do have an alternative menu to choose from. The nursing staff is good at communicating with me about my mom's care. They are watching holidays movies right now which they seem to like and they have an exercise class in the chairs. Mom has stated that she really loves the music here when they were playing Frank Sinatra. I would recommend this community.

Turning into the best decision I have made

The staff have been incredibly attentive to mom's needs. They interact with her and make her feel comfortable. The staff are trained to treat residents with Dementia. The community is professionally managed. The community is set up like a home and the kitchen in in the center. The food is made fresh on site and it is excellent. Mom has started participating in some of the daily activities. The community is well maintained. This is a small community so you see the same staff every day. I would recommend this community.

Mom is more social here

My mom has started to become more social here at this community. There are only 14 residents and it is set up in a home setting with memory care. This is a great environment for my mom, her room is nice and they do a lot with their residents, they have special family outings we've been to the state park out to lunch and there is a beautiful courtyard where they had a vegetable garden and it is surrounded by 4 other homes all working with memory care. This is definitely the perfect fit for my mom and I would recommend setting up a tour.

Once I found the right location, it was obvious this place is brand new. Fourteen residents live in the cottages together sharing a livingroom with fireplace, large open kitchen and secured court yard. Each person had their own room and powder room. Assisted bathing or shower was nearby in the hallway. 2 of 4 buildings were full and a third one was to hold enhanced needs people.
