The caregivers at Kind Heart Home Care III were very kind and caring. My dad (the resident) and the rest of my family were very impressed by the staff. They treated us like family and communicated effectively with us. The move in process was very easy and the food was good quality. We would highly recommend this care home.

We needed respite care for my mother quickly. I chose it because it was clean and nice. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend them.

I luckily stumbled on this facility under enormous pressure. Knowing at this point in my dad's life he was not ready for a Nursing Home. He lived there just under one year until he passed Dec. 1, 2015. I cannot stress enough how happy I am with my decision and luck! The caregivers were absolutely wonderful to him and he felt their warmth which is so comforting. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Location is near us, quiet street, home environment, level of care, and reasonable cost.Good care and very reasonable cost. Easy people to work with.

As far as I could see, they were fine with cleanliness, but [name removed] room had ants. We cannot rate the meals and dining because [name removed] would not eat food there - she had said it was to spicy. As far as activities go there were not activities - none that [name removed] would participate if there were. The community itself was great, but the food was some times inconvenient. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend the community to other families.

They are short staffed. They usually only have one person taking care of 5 people. I do think that they could implement some more activities. Besides watching TV, they don't offer any activities.

This is a private home. The home and grounds a lovely and big! In a great nice residential section in Torrance. There appears to be 2 caregivers living in the house so someone is on call at all times. This facility does not have all the socialization my mom would need nor the doctors or nurses available, but it seems like a great home for someone who is more non verbal or active. The person I had the appointment with did not show up so the caregivers gave me the tour.

My mother is doing well here at this facility. It is a nice facility, when I go to visit her everything is nice and clean. The staff have been kind and helpful. I know she is receiving good care. Also that she is safe and in good hands, I don't have to worry about her. This is a community I would recommend.

My mom was a difficult case but the staff did everything they could. They really have a kindf heart.

My dad is very content there at Golden Care Living. He gets three square meals a day. The caregivers bathe him every day. We know he is safe and they genuinely care about him. He is happy there, and that makes us happy.

If you're placing someone there - have them go, spend some time there and talk to the other residents. They are very short staffed. I do appreciate they had an opening we were able to place my loved one. I wish the food was better..Your organization was GREAT- helped find places to look at and set up appointments- would DEFINITELY use A Place for Mom again and have recommended.

I toured the Kind Heart Home Care I and my feeling was that is was run down and dismal. It was not clean and there was a T.V. room with broken T.V.s. The female caregiver seemed really sweet and gentle, but there was a male caregiver lounging on the couch talking on his phone. I thought he should have been repairing the T.V.s. The sad thing is that a friend who had a loved one in here a couple of years ago and loved the place.

NOT 24 awake staff, they prefer you wear a diaper. Nice house and location but director seems evasive to my questions. Staff appeared friendly but English not being their first language made it difficult to feel they understood my needs. No menu or activities other than tv as far as we could see.

This facility has a major roach infestation. I had to move my brother after only a few months of living there. The roaches were so bad that I was afraid to sit down for fear that I would transport them to my home. I only witnessed them in the bedroom but if they were bad in the bedrooms you can only imagine what the kitchen must be like. Disabled and the elderly should like live in this type of situation.

Horrible - we were desperate and naively thought that A Place for Mom might have vetted places they refer you to. The owners are super cheap-care about $$ not well-being of prisoners. One couple works there-no night shift-they fix themselves nice meals and give everyone else slop. They ignore residents and do their own thing - watch tv. Push you to - or if family isn’t close by - drug residents so they don’t have to bother with them. No compassion. No medical skills. This place should be closed down. This is all our opinion based on our experience. I am not leaving my information as I don’t want to have anything to do with them.

This was a Men's Only residential facility. They referred us to another facility, which we are looking into, but having a difficult time meeting with the Administrator of 2423 Santa Fe Avenue. Still pending.

Oh, my! As I approached this home i was concerned about the landscaping - or lack there of. The entrance to the home is in need of repair. Inside there are two huge, attractive room for the residents to eat and socialize, I think. I was very unimpressed by the kitchen with masking tape on the cabinets. There was only one caregiver in attendance for at least 5 residents. The administrator did not show up and the caregiver was unable to answer my questions and seemed surprised that I was for my appointed tour. The bedroom was clean and attractive but the bathroom!!! Completely unexceptionable. We will not be coming back.

This Board & Care is not what they post!! If I could I would give a 0 zero rating. For what you pay: no air condition even tho they have the unit on the side of the home Saying it doesn't work... savings for the owners. Food: 0 zero rating lunch was usually 1 boiled chicken leg, frozen vegetables, stack of white steam RICE, always always Sunny Delight that is sugar water and I am a diabetic! They could care less just to save dollars!! Both restroom not adequate with handrails not to mention no toilet paper nor paper towels let alone hand soap so unsanitary for patients or visitors!! Visiting hours till 6pm are you kidding.. most people to see their loved ones coming from work & across town would have to have short short visits.. that needs to change!! Not flexible hours either. Big NO Admitting your love one here you'll be sorry.[

I went to tour this property today to place my mother. Upon arriving I was informed this was a men’s home, however ,they had a private room for my mother. As soon as I walked in I was hit in the face with an overwhelming smell of air freshener, The House was dirty and shabby.I would never let my pet stay here let alone my mother! I honestly do not know how people who run these board and care homes obtain licenses.

My Dad moved into Hickory in April after he fell and broke his hip and the staff is excellent but the admin and owner are horrible. I was never able to meet or speak with the owner and the manager didn't listen to a word I spoke, she is very very rude. I was offered for my Dad to move into a shared room, well once he was in there the other person in his room did nothing but complain about my Dad (who had dementia) and I was told that my Dad would either need to move to a private room or to another facility that this place owned which was about another 20 to 30 minutes away from me. I told them that the roommate was the problem and that why did my Dad have to move. They tired to say that my Dad would be better off in a private room. I went ahead a moved him and ended up having to pay more money. The guy in the shared room complained about everyone but was not asked to leave until he stopped paying rent. My Dad passed away in his private room in July and I didn't get one penny back. The owner and manager are very heartless. I would not recommend this place.
