Kinsington is outstanding.

Kinsington at Redwood Park was nothing short of excellent. My family couldn't have asked for any better care for Mom. The staff is professional, caring, patient, and good at what they do. They were easy to work with and responsive. My family members and I regularly walked in unannounced, and that was never unwelcome or a problem. I recommend Kinsington at Redwood Park to anyone looking for quality memory care for a loved one. Mom passed away in late May. The assistant director and 3 additional staff members attended her services and reception. They genuinely cared.

The only place I would let my mother stay at

Kinsington Oak Grove is a great place. They treat her very well and she absolutely loves it here, especially all of the staff. They really care about each individual and their likes and dislikes instead of treating them as a whole group. and that really impressed me. They have an evaluation sheet that they fill out for each of the residents and send it to the family. From administration down they have all been amazing and are so good with the residents and treat my mother the way I would treat her and how I would want to be treated. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

I would recommend Kinsington Oak Grove

We chose Kinsington Oak Grove because they had an opening immediately when we needed it. They are very good people and they worked hard to get in quickly and they went above and beyond to help us move in. It is a very nice and clean facility. If I call they respond immediately, they do the best that they can. They do not have transportation to get people to and from the hospital. They built isolation places so people do not mix as much as I would like to see. If they could mix with the other residents that would be great. I just wish it were a more open place because she is having a harder time making friends.

Poor knowledge

We put my dad in you facility in Medford -Oregon ,because the place was clean, he was there almost a month and a half , on the month of November my sister found my dad unresponsive in his bed , according to the staff he was complaining of chest pain when he went to his room couple of hours ago , they informed the med- tech person and nothing was done , I found this very irresponsible, my dad had hearth problem which the facility knew , he had a pill call nitroglycerin, that it was order by the doctor in case of any chest pain , they didn’t give it to him , I’m a nurse in Los Angeles and is common sense that when someone is having chest pain needs immediately attention, my dad was brought to the hospital because my sister found him in a very bad condition, he passed away a few days after . We are very disappoint it with the staff , they need to orient them or hire employees with knowledge , we understand that eventually my dad was going to pass away, but this speeded up his death .

Patient care

We put my dad in this facility, because it is a nice place and very clean ,but I believe that the staff, special the med tech person or the vocational nurse needs more experience , or maybe it will be better that they will hire a registry nurse on duty, my dad had heart problems and we gave them a medicine call nitroglycerin for his needs , we found out that the day he was brought to the hospital because my sister found him unresponsive in his bed , he told some of the staff that he was having chest pain , and nothing absolutely was done , I’m a nurse in LA and is common sense when someone is haven chest pain it needs a immediate attention. We understand that eventually one day he was going to pass , but we were planning to celebrate his birthday and Christmas with all the family together. I hope it won’t happen to others , I advise the facility to please train and hired people with more experience, because we put our love ones in their hands .

Turned into a nightmare

The facility was clean and new, the manager promised (lied) to us that no matter what added care my Mother would need it would all just be taken care of. At the time it was the last week in April, and they encouraged us to move her in right away, however they charged us for the entire month of April stating they didn't pro-rate. The first few months went ok, other than the fact that my Mother was always dressed in other people's torn and stained clothing and not her own new items. During the height of summer, they allowed her to sit in her pajamas with sweat running all down her without giving her water to rehydrate. Long story short, she was hospitalized due to being dehydrated and infection in her legs from being left to sit too long. When the hospital discharged her, Kinsington told us that my Mother's health issues were too much for them to handle but her ONLY issues were those that they created. DONT TRUST THEM!

Terrible

While some of the direct care staff did the best they could; the facility is severely understaffed. Weekends are the worst. They have no housekeeping staff nor activities director. The managers/directors are unprofessional and aloof. Our family member received no oral hygiene care or regular showers until hospice took over. If you choose this facility; regular unscheduled visits are a must.
