In granting awards, A Place for Mom relies solely on resident and family reviews. While A Place for Mom indicates whether reviews have been verified, A Place for Mom does not physically inspect the facilities as part of the awards process review. Senior living communities are ineligible for Best of Senior Living awards, despite positive family reviews, unless their state licenses have remained in good standing for 12 months preceding the award period.
Senior living communities are also ineligible for Best of Senior Living awards if, during the 12 months preceding the award period, they have been cited by state regulators for specific violations, including:
If a senior living community has changed ownership during the 12 months preceding the award period, only the period under new ownership will be considered for eligibility.
