Mom has lived here for 2 years and is very pleased with her choice. The staff is friendly and really cares. The grounds are kept tidy. Apts have patios or balcony with either a view of the garden or the large Redwoods. Favorite amenities include weekly housekeeping, raised bed gardening, library, on site beauty parlor, games, exercise class, bingo, free laundry and field trips (picnics, Bodega Bay, shopping trips, restaurant trips, smart train and casino trips). The food plan is very flexible and you have many choices at each meal. Variety of floor plans all include kitchen or kitchenette. The staff has very little turnover and seems to be happy which makes mom happy. Valley Orchard is a great choice for aging in place. You can be as active and independent as long as possible and then add caregivers, hospice or help as needed. We believe Valley Orchard is truly unique and not like all the other places. Best value for your money available in the area.

Our loved one is rally happy at Valley Orchards Retirement Community, it has been such a positive experience so far. Based in our experience we would definitely recommend this community to other families.

My mom is been there for two months and everything has been really great: the staff the cleaning and laundry service the food is so tasty and the price is very reasonable plus there are activities (Super caring professional activity leader and very conscientious administrator) ...we were just really grateful to find someplace small scale with a personal touch like this...

Mom has only been at Valley Orchards for a few weeks and she is still trying to adjust but seems to be happy there. As a family we are right in the middle of selling her home and she just had surgery on top of that. The staff as well as the residents have all been very nice and welcoming. Mom has a group of people that she eats with and seems to enjoy their company. The only thing that I would say about the cleanliness of the community is that they can probably use new carpet in the main area. Other than that things are going very well!

I am very pleased with Valley Orchard Retirement Community. What we like most is our backyard view. It is literally like our own backyard. I have nothing to say for them to improve here. I give everything five stars.

They have been excellent. I couldn't be happier. Caryn, my advisor from A Place For Mom, did a wonderful job. The price was right, it's very good. The food is good here. I would definitely rate Silverado a five!

I took a tour of this lovely, smaller community and I found it interesting. I love the residents, they were friendly and welcoming when I met them. I also ate lunch here and was so impressed with the chef's meal which was fish with sauce, it truly was the best fish I had in a very long time! This community is smaller, which is fine with me. I also did not like the dark rooms and there was no available room on the 2nd floor.

I would recommend. St Helena is a beautiful place to live.

It's a very clean community. They provide housekeeping and meals. The staff is wonderful, and I have no issues with them at all. They have activites such as exercise, games, a readers club, and gardening. The value for the money is average. OveralI, I am very happy here.

This was in our Top 3, and the rooms was very nice that was available. We enjoyed another community more.

My mother was at Silverado for only a couple of months, but then she left to another community. She said Silverado was very boring and they did not have many activities. She kept complaining all she would do was sleep there. She did, though, really enjoy the food.

Very nice facility. Beautiful grounds and very friendly people. The ambience is that of a high end hotel. The only negative I can mention is a bit of a musty smell.

We like it very much, and are very happy with it. A Place For Mom did a good job helping us find it. We have been satisfied with everything.

Valley Orchards seems like a nice community but the facilities are very dated (no windows in the dining room or library; more importantly tubs rather than walk-in showers in the units we looked at). Additionally, Covid protocols were lax by our standards. Residents present had masks but did not put them on when we approached.

Nice location. Difficult to drive in or out on this busy street for elderly drivers. Price, apartment amenities and food are good. Decor is not so welcoming in the common areas - seems dark. Needs a modern feel vs very old living room and old hotel hallways.

Not at all inviting, dirty carpeting and walls throughout...not being considered.
