Always Caring

My father was a resident at Friendship Place and everything was great for him at this facility. This was during Covid, so we really did not get to see much. However, we were very happy with everything and everyone at this facility. The Value for Cost was a big 5, money well spent.

We chose Always Caring because of the close location, it is a smaller community that is a converted house, only about 8 people, and she seemed to be friendly. We started out with respite care here and she provided that for weekends and it went well so we decided to go full time. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

The friendliness of the staff and consideration of your loved ones stood out to me. The overall concern for my loved one was amazing. The community was a house that they turned into a community. If I had to do it again, I would.

We have had a great experience so far with Always Caring. We chose this facility because the manager was clear about what to expect, they had space available, and it was the nicest place that I was able to visit before making a decision. The common rooms here are very spacious and my dads room is more than sufficient for his needs. I would recommend to others looking.

I am glad that my mom has adjusted and transitioned with no problem. She has staff that are very caring and friendly. I see them taking their time with all of them who live there. There is a very homey and cozy feeling and it is good that there are no steps. Being in a single level home and having a private room is great. I get good communication from the staff and I like that I can visit often, at any time.

We drove by or visited dozens of places that were within my sister's limited budget. Always Caring was, by far, the best value with a caring and respectful staff, clean environment and fair price. Before this house was an assisted living facility, it was Tim and Elva Belton's home. Yet after 17 years in AL, the Beltons still make residents and their families feel right at home. Their staffers have been working here for many years, which speaks volumes about the environment. Situated in one of Columbia's nicest residential neighborhoods, my sister has a private room with a beautiful view of Lake Elkhorn.

It is a safe and clean environment. Some of the staff are awesome who are attentive. There are also some staff that look overwhelmed, that is understandable as well. The best part of the community is that it is a family environment. It is not an intuitional feel. It is small and intimate in nature, which I like. The scenery is beautiful in a quiet neighborhood.

The family has had a few minor issues with one of the caregivers, However they do treat my mom well. I do not think they give the residents healthy food and may not be giving them good size portions. The home is clean and well maintained. I am not sure I would recommend this community. I think you should look into this care home closely.

Very clean, nice staff, the lady was about 45mins late. She showed me 2 places and both were very nice but no vacancies.

Site on 1 level. Can bring full size bed with semi-private room. 5 residents. Older facility but nice. Liked it a lot. Good pricing. Near home. Definite possibility.

I liked that this was a single-story group home. The other ones we've seen were multi-story. The Director really seems to like seniors and to feel that they are capable of living full lives. The room that is available is a good size. The bathroom they'd use has a regula tub, which would be a problem, despite the chair. If we go the group home route, this would be an option

We were not impressed. Parking access to the home is quite tight, due to the configuration of the neighborhood. This is a small older home, and in my opinion is not the best layout for multiple seniors if more than one or two have wheelchairs. The bathroom modifications were basic, things that I could purchase at a home aid store and install myself. During our tour, the house curtains were drawn so no light was coming through, which made the atmosphere drab and lifeless. The attendant did not immediately introduce herself upon our arrival and was not personable. We will definitely keep looking for other living arrangement options.

This place is a residential home in a neighborhood, the bathroom would have to be shared, hallways did not look large enough to accommodate a walker etc. and the residents that were there looked like zombies. NO
