Care services do not apply as we are in an independent living duplex and we have not yet dined on the campus. Due to Covid concerns, the dining room opened to independent living guests last week. We are very pleased with our Superior/Lakes duplex on the Alden of Waterford campus. The staff is very pleasant and always responsive to pleasant and accommodating. Our unit is beautiful , the campus grounds are exquisite, and many social activities allow us to meet other residents. My husband and I shopped extensively for a Continuous Care Community and found Aldens of Waterford to be superior to every other community that we visited. Aldens of Waterford ... safety and peace of mind in a a beautiful natural setting.

After more than 5 years of involvement with the residency of a loved one at Alden Garden of DesPlaines, I consider the experience with the Alden community to be exceptional from a consumer perspective. Management is always accessible and highly responsive to addressing issues on the few occasions when they arose. Nursing staff is very professional and responsive to medical needs, including timely administration of medications. They are exceptional in communicating the resident’s medical need or situation to appropriate physicians and their staff. CNA staff are reliable, responsive, and generally compassionate in dealings with residents. The low turnover of all staff is a big positive which permits adequate staffing at all times. The availability of social service staff and activities director along with a hair dresser weekly contribute greatly to quality of life for residents. Fact that cost to residents is more affordable than many less desirable facilities is an appreciated factor!

I could not be more pleased with the quality of care I get there. My father has dementia and does not hear well plus only speaks French. The staff gives care that allows me to feel safe where he is. I am always notified of anything going on. Top notch care.

I would recommend 100% because of everything they offer. The price is the highest I've seen but since they take Medicaid it ends up working out. We picked this community, because they could get my dad on Medicaid after his private pay money was gone. It had the best facility I had seen. Lots of activities, lots of staff great food and very pretty both the grounds and inside. Plus there were options for him if his condition worsened. It was the best of both worlds and not a dump like a lot of places.

The waiting list can be long at some places. It became available when I was looking.I like it here. People are so kind! I have already referred it. They are nice people always asking how you are doing and one lady actually brought up my mail ! They have a nice exercise room with a couple treadmills and a bike thingy. Bingo on Fridays which is always fun.

I am currently a resident at Fox River Horizon and this community is great! My experience here has been great so far. The meals do not apply, we do our own meals here. The cleanliness and friendliness here are great. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.

My mother lived at Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale for 7 years before her passing. My mom was well cared for. All the staff took a personal interest in her. They always talked to her and encouraged her to participate in daily activities. The building was clean every time I came for a visit. The nursing staff did a great job of coordinating her medial care from daily medications, doctor visits, lab test, x-rays, and physical therapy in house. The best part is at Thanksgiving and Christmas the entire staff welcomed the families of the residents in for a special holiday meal. That made me feel like part of the community.

I picked this community because of the location. This is an active community..the updated vestibule is impressive..rooms are adequate sizes and they respond to updates in rooms in a timely manner..the landscaping is beautiful & their walking paths around the lakes with the swans are perfect!

I would recommend this facility.....they love my mother, I've heard from people that don’t work there anymore about how much they enjoyed taking care of her. Mom says that the meals are awesome, that there is almost TOO MUCH to eat. Her room and every where else we visit her while there are spotlessly clean. Communication is always good as well.... We have had no trouble getting a hold of my mother and speaking to her on the phone or her calling us as well. Communication is always good as well. I have been here less a year and this place is perfect for me. I love my duplex on the lake-the view is peaceful and beautiful and with all the windows there's tons of light. The friendly environment here allows me to participate as much or as little as I want and without pressure. The neighbors are great and the staff are helpful and responsive. I feel fortunate to be here!

Our family had an in person tour and from everything we have seen and all the staff we met with, it was an great tour experience , but we felt our loved one moving into a smaller community would be a better fit and that was the deciding factor.

I live in a duplex. Any problems are handled "immediately! Laws, shrubs, snow removing, replanting always good. Managment great!

I have seen the care provided first hand in this facility and it is outstanding! Highly recommend this establishment .

We looked around for a couple years for independent living on one level, that was not an apartment. The floor plan of our duplex is great, the neighbors very friendly & helpful, & the staff very responsive to our needs. It is beautifully landscaped , with swans in each pond. We also found it more affordable than most of the other places that we looked at.

When you come to Alden, you are greeted by the smiling face of [name removed], then met with [name removed] who explains what apartments we have here. [name removed] handles all financial questions. We have the finest nurses and CNAs under the direction of [name removed]. [name removed] who takes care of all work orders. [name removed] and staff do a great job with the activities here. [name removed] does an excellent job in menu planning. He and his staff do a wonderful job. [name removed] is our Director. She, with the help from all of those named above, have kept us healthy and safe. I recently fell near the lobby. As I laid there, I saw [name removed] & 3 CNAs come to my aid. They got a belt and put it around me and told me to put my feet forward. They pulled me up & gave me my cane. I am very thankful to all who helped me. I think that God was showing me and my family what a great place I’m living at! Take it from me, there is no better place than Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale.

From the first day I toured, I was impressed by the presentation, follow up and encouragement to make a decision that was hard. Love living here now.

I liked this community very well. This was actually my first choice but they did not have the availability right away like we needed. It was a little smaller and dated but the feeling was nice. Some of the rooms were bigger and that was nice also compared to other communities. This community was also a lot more diversified and the tour guide had been there for 14 years and was amazing.

I chose Fox River because of the location, it is close to my work. Also once I got here the building manager was very kind, professional, and helpful. The apartment size is very nice and comfortable for a single person, I also have a balcony. It has been a good experience and I would recommend to others looking.

The Alden Gardens community is very clean and very pretty. The staff members were all very welcoming. We would certainly recommend this community to other families.
