It's very comforting to know he is cared for 24/7 and has other seniors to chat with and be social. The staff is great and we truly feel they love my dad. That means everything!

The Retreat is a peaceful facility with excellent care. It is very clean and it comfortable for residents and also for visitors. The staff is very helpful. The food is very good. The residents have a lovely view when outdoors on the patio.

We have been extremely satisfied overall with the staff's interactions with our mom. It has been so much easier at The Retreat than with her previous situation. They seem so welcoming and accommodating. They treat her like family. And every time I leave there, I have a good feeling.

I overall would recommend Retreat at Southgate, but they've had a lot of employee turnover since Moms been there. Hope that is settled soon so they have assistant's that can help and maybe schedule activity sometime.

3 years ago my mom was there for 4 months, and we had a good experience. At that time, the staff was kind, friendly, and attentive. I do not know if the staff has changed since then. The administrator was awesome and let me move in my mom's adjustable bed and her recliner. To do this she had to have someone move out the existing furniture. She was very accommodating to my needs. The home itself is beautiful. The price was fair. The owners of the home bought Christmas gifts for all of the residents, which was a very kind gesture.

We chose this facility at the time because we wanted a smaller community where she could not get lost that was more homey. The room sizes were fantastic, they do have different options on sizes as well so you can choose based on what you need. The management staff was here was easy to work with, if there were any issues they were quickly resolved. I would tell others that if you are looking for a place with activities, there really is not a whole lot here. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.
