Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the ability to continue to live active lives while assuring their care requirements are being met. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping are taken care of for you while you are free to use your time as you choose. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they prefer. While policies vary between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are a number of benefits and expenses to keep in mind when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in your service plan: housekeeping, initial assessment fee, internet access, parking, transportation, meals, field trips, and laundry. The benefits associated with independent living include healthcare center, private rental hall, beauty salon & barber shop, transportation, game/TV room, golf course, security guards, and fitness center & swimming pool.
