We had a wonderful experience at The Sheridan at Green Oaks and just absolutely loved the staff members. We had to move my loved one out because after my loved one got out of the hospital/rehab he needed more than a one person transfer and they were not able to accommodate that here. I felt they rushed my loved one out and it was disheartening. Other than that one issue towards the end, we had a great experience and we loved this facility.... Read more

March 2, 2022We appreciate your candor. Our community is committed to providing nothing short of exceptional service and care to the residents who call our community home. We’d be glad to discuss the specifics of this review with you, and we hope you’ll reach out to us to schedule some time to do so.
I would tell others that you should consider this community. It is well run and my loved one is very happy here. The staff are phenomenal, and communicate with the family well about our loved one. The staff are always friendly, kind, and caring toward the resident and family. Singing group, church services, arts and crafts, memory games, puzzles, and more are some of the activities for the residents to participate in.

March 2, 2022Wow, you made our day! Thank you for your kind words and for recommending our services. We strive to create great places to live for our residents and love hearing that we are achieving our goal!
We moved my parents into The Sheridan, independent living. The staff are excellent and try quickly to resolve all their issues. It was quite a change for them but they are adjusting fairly well. The staff continually check in on them to answer questions and be sure they feel comfortable in their new home. We are praying the pandemic clears soon so they can enjoy more that the facility has to offer. I know they will be happier when they can socialize more and hopefully get more involved.

January 11, 2022We appreciate you choosing our community for your loved one and value your feedback. If there is anything else our team can do for you, please let us know!
We toured the community and my parents absolutely fell in love with the place. The staff was super friendly and always said 'Hi' to us even not knowing us. Everyone was very helpful in answering my parents questions and easing their concerns. My parents are not yet ready, but when they are, this is where they want to be.

My friend moved to Sheridan at Green Oaks Independent Living during the pandemic. Besides the stress of the pandemic, she was also moving under other difficult personal circumstances. Living in another state, I could not be with her at this time and was very concerned about her transition. Well, I was simply amazed by the professionalism, kindness and get-it-done attitude of the staff and the wide range of services that were available to her. Once she was settled, the staff made sure she felt welcome and her needs were taken care of. Having transportation to all her medical appointments and assistance with any handyman-type tasks in her apartment were also a huge plus. All in all, she now has the benefits of living on her own, without the worries of feeling isolated or without support when she needs it. I can't say enough good things about what I've observed so far, and I'm looking forward to a visit when I'm finally able to travel. Kudos to all the staff at the Sheridan!

The Sheridan has been so great in caring for my parents. They helped my mom through her death in hospice with loving care. Since then, they have provided a place for my father to meet new people. They check on his well being often and are so positive and caring. The people working there are amazing.

I moved my mom to the Sheridan at Green Oaks in [date removed] from a facility in Michigan. We were both apprehensive, as she was moving from the home and city in which she had lived for more than 45 years in the middle of a pandemic. We could not have been more pleased with our choice! The staff, from administrative to nursing and food service, is wonderful; I believe they truly care about the residents in each of the three levels of resident support. They communicate regularly with residents and families on the state of the facility in the midst of covid-19, and have policies in place to protect those who live, work and visit there. The facility is clean and incredibly well-kept. I would highly recommend the Sheridan at Green Oaks to someone looking for a caring, safe and beautiful new home for their family member or loved one. My once apprehensive mom is now settled and very happy with all the Sheridan has to offer!

I have been extremely impressed with the professionalism of the whole team during this time of crisis. With a loved one in Memory Care, it is especially trying to not have physical contact for a long period of time. The directors and staff have done everything they can for us to maintain contact. I commend them for their efforts. [name removed]

March 24, 2020Thank you so much Suzanne! It's very nice to hear that we are providing a level of connection and comfort during these difficult times. We always read kudos aloud to our staff and will pass on your kind words.
First of all, the best thing about Sheridan is that the staff is wonderful. Cheerful, respectful and caring. My MIL has resided at the memory care for over a year and considers it her home. Her having “no complaints” is the best review we as a family could make. Also, kudos to Director [name removed] as we much appreciate her calm and caring manner. She is very hands on with residents and is experienced in navigating the inevitable twists and turns associated with dementia. The activities staff are pleasant and creative with crafts, musical entertainment, movies, brain games and general engagement. Thanks Sheridan!

The Good: Memory Care Building care givers and nurses appear to execute their daily tasks with care and attention as possible. Daily activities for residents socialization; residents encouraged to participate. The Not So Good: Disappointing leadership communication; tactical knowledge is poor. Meals delivered to Memory Care residents as Memory Care kitchen at this time is not staffed for daily food preparation and serve. Request: Our family would welcome understanding the number of nurses on duty at all times. What is the protocol for staff to communicate residents state of health with their doctor? What is the protocol for staff to communicate residents health with family?

Response from The Sheridan at Green Oaks
August 6, 2018Mike, thank you for your comments. We strive for continual focus on opportunities and improvements to enhance the lives of the people who live at The Sheridan and your feedback allows us to do this. Dining is one of the offerings in which we take the most pride. Our chefs prepare our food from scratch, in the main kitchen for every meal. You are correct, the prep kitchen in the area of the community where your mom lives is not used for cooking. It was constructed as a prep kitchen and is used as such. It provides a beverage station, an area to put dirty dishes out of the way to be returned to the main kitchen and a place for us to prepare basic snacks such at cutting fruit for the infused water which is always available for our residents. Less than a month ago, we opened a new, enhanced assisted living which focuses on brain health, we call it Enrich. As a part of roll out, about half of the people in the original memory care program, Embrace, were moved into Enrich. With the change in both of these neighborhoods, this comes with new processes, practices and a time of transition. During this time, and the duration of your mom’s residency, the person who oversees your mother’s care, the Health and Wellness Director has remained unchanged. I understand you have specific questions with regards to our protocol for communication with doctor and family and our Executive Director, Health and Wellness Director and Memory Care Director will be reaching out to you to explain and answer any further questions you may have. Thank you for entrusting your mother’s care to us. We enjoy having her as part of our family.
I helped move my parents into the Independent Living side last fall. My parents are very happy and rave how friendly everyone is there. The place is new, beautifully decorated, and feels like a hotel then a retirement community. The only downside is that the restaurant service is extremely slow so the wait to get served has been their only ongoing complaint.

June 4, 2018Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at The Sheridan at Green Oaks! We appreciate your feedback and we're sorry to hear that the dining experience has been less than 5 stars. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our Executive Director with your concerns and we will see that they are addressed. Thank you!
We used the respite service in this community and it seemed to be a positive experience for us. Mom liked the time she was there. Mom met a few people there and did some of the activities. She said she enjoyed the food. We found the staff to be friendly and very pleasant. We would recommend them to anyone.

At first I was interested, very impressed. Once I spent time I saw start Qwen the woman can not related to the storage key. She fabricated a story of notes passed to the residents, which never happened. She should have just said she didn't have large gloves for the nurse. Memory care ran out of all sizes of the gloves. The Nurse direct or did not have psych consults to fill out so the residents just [Removed] one to one. I reported it to the police first hand. Thanks again for the help and support. I would not put my mother in memory care, it is too big and too far from the nurse. Hope this helps.

We toured this community for care. We liked the staff and the list of the menu of healthy meals. The activities would have been good and we felt like this had a nice atmosphere for the cost of the care. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one.

January 5, 2018Thank you for sharing your recommendation of our community. We appreciate your feedback and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit with us!
The concierge is in attentive with Apple iPhone buds, then the memory care doesn't use gloves , the activities are great. I believe the upper management stays in the office and is not active with the people. Front desk security at night is nice. The value is too high and you have to pay 3000.00 for carpet when you move out. Not a great value at all. The food can be good or bad depends on the meal. This is what I have observed. Some moved out already after not staying very long, a declined couple. I noticed some are on the wrong unit. Thanks
