Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include prepare meals and snacks based on the Food and Nutrition board’s recommended dietary allowances, maintain a standard of food preparation that meets the needs of residents, and provide three meals a day. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one bath or shower for every residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. The maximum occupancy is 2 residents per room. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include dietary services, assist with personal care, pharmaceutical services, and transportation. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include administer medication, supervise and assist with self-administration of medication, and monitor dosage.
