An Independent Living Community allows residents the ability to continue to live active lives while ensuring their care requirements are met. Basic chores such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they choose, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering an opportunity to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always utilize the services of private care providers. There are a variety of expenditures and advantages to consider while determining an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are covered in your plan: transportation, Waiting list deposit, internet access, field trips, parking, housekeeping, move-in fee, and initial assessment fee. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include transportation, community activities, security guards, golf course, fitness center & swimming pool, healthcare center, private rental hall, and restaurant-style dining hall.
