Our loved one seems happy there, we have not had a meal there ourselves but when we ask him about the meals and dining service he doesn't complain. They do have activities going on for the residents, our loved one mostly likes to sit in the library where he can read. When it comes to the overall value it is what it is but we do think he is getting his money's worth. We have recommended this community to other families and will continue to do so.... Read more

The staff are very welcoming not only to the residents but to the families that come and visit. There is great diversity within the staff and residents - not only race and gender, but almost everybody here is able to connect with someone based on their backgrounds. it is a very welcoming and inclusive environment and based on our overall experience so far we would recommend them to other families.

Assisted living is not always what you expect and you do have to make adjustments sometimes. This is a nice place but not as much total freedom as you expect. They are very friendly and they do a nice job but the whole assisted living experience has been a transition. They have activities like games, singing, outside walks, people come in like entertainment for the residents and more for them to do.

May 16, 2022Hi Bruce! Thank you for the wonderful things you said about Sunrise of Cresskill. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review!
When I first walking in, it felt very homey and comfortable and I knew this was going to be the best fit for her. The staff is very good and the care has been great. Since my mother got here, she was promised a shower. They had us order a special wheelchair and she still has not gotten it yet. She really loves bingo, I am trying to get her to participate in some of the other activities provided. I would highly recommend them to others.
It is a beautiful community that is very organized, structed and competent. It shows that they know what they are doing. They have activities for the residents to participate in, and they even opened up the assisted living activities for my loved one.
I’ve been pleased with all aspects of care at Sunrise of Cresskill. The staff has been consistently communicative and supportive of my father and his adult children. The atmosphere is cheerful and welcoming, and their ability to keep all residents safe and healthy during COVID is impressive.
I explained the concerns I had with my loved one prior to moving in. Sunrise said that they could care for these concerns. Now that my loved one is in the community, they said they didn't have enough staff to care for my loved one's concerns. I would had to hire an in-home care company to stay with my loved one. This has caused the family extra stress over the last several months. The director of memory care said that they have never had experienced a resident they were unable to handle. Then that director of memory care left. Now the memory care unit and administrative teams are passing me back and forth with where to seek answers. The activities for memory care isn't available. There are lots of activities available for the assisted living side. They is no "old person smell", and my loved one is changed each day. I know my loved one is being care for well.
I think anyone would be very comfortable here. They check-in and take good care of her. I would recommend this community to others. the community has a homey type feel to it, and its a good value also.
This review is en light of COVID, otherwise we think this is a wonderful community. We did have a couple issues when it came to the services, for example like bathing. It seemed to cost extra for them to bath our loved one. Our loved one moved in in January, and due to COVID there are no activities they are confined to their rooms which has caused him to decline. We also wish they would allow hospital beds in the rooms, our loved one has fallen out of bed a couple of times and they do not allow bed rails. However they people at this community are very caring especially the ones who take care of him. The food is pretty decent, we were able to eat there a couple of times before COVID and it was good. Our loved one has yet to complain about the food.
I had a fine tour of this community. Everyone was kind. The community appeared to clean. The experience went well overall, but I did not feel this was the community for my father, and his needs overall.
We fell in love with Sunrise as soon as we walked into the place. Every area is beautifully and warmly decorated. The staff is very pleasant and easy to talk to. The residents all say "hello" with a smile on their face. When you walk through the rooms and are always greeted with smiling seniors, it tells you that they like where they are - and we now do too. The rooms are large, open, airy, excellent closets/storage space, beautiful bathroom, our own washer/dryer. They serve a continental breakfast every morning, and we have a dinner that offers a menu with minimum of 7 choices and includes, salad bar, soup, entree, beverage and dessert. They offer a daily list of varied activities. It's great!
This community is nice and they also have beds reserved for residents with medicaid. The people I met at this community were nice and knowledgable. The community seemed clean.
Everything was great here. We really like the community and the staff was really helpful in the tour. We got to see everything. The only problem is that they did not have any openings or dad would have been able to go here.
We had a nice tour of Sunrise. The people were responsive and friendly. The community looked clean and I saw that they offered a variety of activities.
Common Room was too crowded with patients.
Things are great for mother here at Sunrise we are very pleased with all the community has done for her. I would recommend it to family and friends it is a good place.
feels like a resort and yet homey and comfortable. The staff is immaculate and so helpful. we just love it here.
The staff is wonderful. My mom is really happy there. There is plenty for her to do at her level. It's just a great place. I'm thrilled with it. It is worth every penny. The facility is always spotless and the staff is so friendly! I am so happy with the experience we've had, and especially the care my mother is receiving. We're very pleased.
Place started out great and 5 years later is going downhill. Hasn't been the same. Staff is not as attentive and these people are paying a fortune to live there.

The biggest issue has been keeping her stimulated and being able to socialize. Since she has mobility issues, when they escort her to meals they will put her at a table where the others have their heads down and it would be nice if they would sit the residents with others of similar cognitive ability. It's very clean and very nice. The newness of it was nice. It's the best thing we could hope for short of her getting better.
