These include assistance in accessing and coordinating health services, occasional assistance in accessing social and recreational services, assistance with self-administration of medications, and supervision or occasional assistance with two or more activities of daily living. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include meals must be well-balanced, meals must be properly prepared, meals must be of sufficient quantity and quality to meet daily nutritional needs, and meals must be palatable. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include a licensed health professionall must review each resident’s medication regime within 14 days of admission, medication administration, and physical assistance to open and remove medications from a container. Staff must receive training in a variety of fields. These areas include Managers of programs licensed for five or more residents must complete 20 hours of Department-approved continuing education every 2 years, their individual job requirements, residents’ rights, and the resident assessment process.
