The place was clean and rooms were nice. It was the first place I have seen. The price seemed high though.

Good Community

I would say to go ahead and visit. My loved one was there a short period of time. During that time, the staff was very good. They were accommodating to the health issues of my loved one. The community cooperated with Hospice very well.

Our mind is at ease knowing our loved one is safe here

Brighton Gardens employees were very friendly and very well managed, which made us feel comfortable that there wasn't going to be a high turnover rate. We really liked how welcoming the front entrance was. The rooms are pretty spacious, our loved one has a one bedroom with a front seating room. It is perfect for what she needed. They offer a variety of food options to choose from. We have been really happy with everything, they have done an excellent with informing the families during COVID.

5 Star find and its not amazon

I would want people to know when looking into Brighton Gardens that you should go have a meal with your loved one. Just see the flow and walk around as much as possible different times of day to make sure it is a good fit. I would absolutely recommend this facility.

Facility looks nice. Would prefer the deluxe studio. Plenty of activities. Loved that the tour guide new the paitience names as well as the staff members we encountered.

Quality Care

Brighton Garden's staff are very knowledgeable and always ready to help in any way. The staff must be treated well by the management, because all the key staff have been there for many years. The place is cheerfully decorated, the food is very good, and the activities seem suited to the abilities of the residents. It is pricey, however, but as a result, the residents get the attention they need.

Good care and excellent environment

My parent recently moved to assisted living at Brighton Gardens after several years at another facility. We had toured places all around central Maryland and chose BG because of the range of activities and the engagement of the resident community. It hasn't disappointed -- activities have ranged from simple games like bingo to TED talks and a guest lecture from an astrophysicist, and the staff aims to keep residents active and in contact with each other. Brighton Gardens stood out from everywhere else we visited because the social interactions aren't limited to meals and activities -- many residents hang out in the common area, so their worlds are larger than their apartments, which is especially important for someone with mobility impairments. Assisted living isn't a situation anyone would hope to be in, but Brighton Gardens provides good care while trying to also keep everyone as happy and involved as possible. This is the right place for us.

Not at all good

I rarely weigh in on public forums such as this, but have been so incredibly frustrated with the care provided to my parent at BG Columbia, I decided to add my impressions to the mix. I recognize many of the writers of reviews posted and frankly, rarely see them visiting their loved ones, at least during the day. Perhaps they are only able to visit in the evening, but if that’s the case, I would strongly suggest visiting during the day so you get a better picture of the day to day routine. While there are some kind, caring staff, for most, this is just a job. This is especially true of managers, all of them. I don’t see any effort on their part to create an environment they would want for their own family members. Shameful. I have found bruises on my parent that no one seemed to notice or report, have had to ask repeatedly for showers and hair to be washed, not to mention toileting. Don’t expect them to accommodate your family member’s needs. The corporate line reigns supreme at BG Columbia. Someone once told me that most people who place parents in assisted living are just looking to warehouse them. Apparently that’s the sad case for many, but my parent deserves better.
