I loved the staff at Arden Courts dearly. They were warm and sweet, caring and friendly, and they took such good care of my mom. I only wish I'd moved her there sooner! I would give them a total and complete recommendation to anybody who asked. It was a breath of fresh air, after being in Assisted Living for 4 years prior, to finally find a place that really understood the support and resources she needed without me having to beg, borrow, plead and argue with them (and having to hire 24/7 private care for a while in AL because their resident to staff ratio wasn't sufficient for somebody going towards needing memory care.) In contrast, my mom was just so clearly happy and supported at Arden Courts.... Read more

Arden courts was not a good fit for my father. We moved him 18 months ago. The staff changed three times while we were there from English speaking nice people to my dad, then they left and new staff were hired that were difficult for us to understand (language barrier). My deaf, blind father didn't have a chance at understanding what they were saying. Then another new staff was hired, still there was a language barrier. The rent went up three times as the service went down. He was heavily medicated and slept most of the day. The staff often locked us in the residence area, many times because no one could let us out. I would not recommend Arden Courts for someone as disabled as my father who cannot stand up for themselves. The friendliness varied daily, it was better when I understood who I was speaking with at the time. The Quality of Care was all over the place. The Staff, again, constantly changing. There were no Activities that I knew of. Value for the money is difficult to say as we're now paying much less for far better care and conditions.

They address all of my concerns. It's full memory care. Everything is new and different, and they just remodeled the community. I would like to see more activities in the Evening. I wanted a place, where my loved one would be safe. I would recommend for those who need a full memory care facility.

The staff were very kind and helpful. They seemed to really care about the residents. It was more like a family vs a care facility.

This was our second choice, it looked great and was very colorful but it was more out of our loved ones budget than another community that we were looking at. This was a fantastic tour and made us want to go here.
We do know there is a lot of pressure the communities are facing now with covid, and unfortunately we are not able see what is exactly is going on and develop those relationships with the staff members. We do know they are very caring and they look out for their customers, but the communication is lacking a little bit.

I first came to aPlaceforMom when it was time to find a local memory care home for my mom. They responded quickly, asked me about my mom's situation and then identified a few places for me to consider based on 'our' circumstances. This was so helpful since I was not familiar with the area or the facilities. I chose Arden Courts of Silver Spring. The place was perfect for us. It is a quaint, comfortable environment completely capable of full service for all my mom's needs. I have spent a lot of time visiting and found all of the staff to be dedicated. They get to know each resident personally and treat each with care and patience. As difficult as it was to turn my mothers' care over to someone else, I found the perfect place where she is happy and well cared for by all the staff every day. I am extremely grateful to all of them for the care that they continue to provide.

Arden only has a memory unit. I can see why it is an award-winning example of a well designed facility, well thought out, and maintained. Although this particular unit did not accept Medicaid patients, it did have an alternative building which did so. However, we were not able to tour it. Again, the cost would prohibit my sister from staying more than 7-9 months. We realized that she is somewhere between Assisted Living and Memory Care. Neither side fits her needs at the moment. Should she improve her current situation by following doctors' orders, taking meds, and wearing Depends, Assisted Living would be the option for her. Should she continue to be uncooperative and her memory deteriorates, the option would have to be Memory Care. The problem is that she is between the two at the moment.

Our counselor was excellent. Arden courts was informative and their staff was excellent. We felt extremely well about our options once we spoke to everyone involved. Thank you so much for your help in our time of great need.

This is a beautiful facility and yes, i can see my relative living in this facility. The advantage is that it is very close to my home and I can visit nearly daily. The disadvantage is that the pricing is very high. I am awaiting feedback on the availability of a one bedroom unit.
