Independent Living

An Independent Living Community provides residents the chance to continue to live an active life while making sure their essential needs have been fulfilled. Food preparation, leisure activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of for you while you are able to use your time as you choose. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of independent health care providers, they may always do so. There are a number of costs and advantages to balance while selecting an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in the service plan: field trips, initial assessment fee, Waiting list deposit, utilities, parking, meals, internet access, and housekeeping. The conveniences that pertain to independent living include game/TV room, golf course, laundry service, security guards, private rental hall, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, and concierge services.
