The Artisan at Hudson MIGHT be OK for a Healthy Independent Senior...IF they enjoy real-life guesses + mystery (i.e: How many more days will this same salty soup be served? or “What part of our contracted Resident Agreement will be changed this month?”) and IF they not have high blood pressure, diabetes, special diet, or need much attention. The Artisan has not prioritized resident needs over making a profit if you check their Dinner Menu, you can decide if you can afford it. Communication is POOR = On the past THREE holidays a special meal was advertised, then changed literally at the last minute as guests were arriving “because the Executive Chef "didn’t know/wasn’t prepared for it”! When current Management changed our original signed Residency Contract, we were told if we didn’t agree to their revised contract terms we could move…so we did! Some residents couldn't physically make the move, so they are now in a difficult situation with unmet contract terms.

Response from Artisan at Hudson
July 31, 2023Thank you, Liz. We are very proud of our senior living community and are so happy that you feel the same about Artisan at Hudson. Your 5-star rating means a great deal to us. We appreciate that you took the time to share your opinion.
Artisan at Hudson is a community I would recommend to friends for their loved ones. I think they could do better with the activities and communications of the activities. The meals are like eating at a restaurant.

Response from Artisan at Hudson
July 31, 2023Thank you for sharing your 5-star review about Artisan at Hudson. Our newest Life Enrichment Director has made a number of enhancements to our activity program. However, she is always open to feedback. Feel free to reach out to her directly at artisan.ledirector@sagelife.com.
I have been a resident at the Artisan in Hudson, MA, since their opening. In that time I have witnessed many physical malfunctions (i.e., heat, lights, etc.) a rent increase of 6%, and an attitude from kitchen staff that they don't have to match the food with the description in the menu. WE ARE PAYING FOR A PRODUCT DESCRIBED IN THE MENU; THEY ARE NOT DOING US A FAVOR BY SUPPLYING IT. If you enjoy being subordinated, this is the right place for you. Tonight I ordered a dish descried in the menu as containing 5 scallops...it came with only 4, and I pointed the discrepancy and was told they did not intend to make good. If they ever do produce the missing item I will tell them what they can do with it.

Seems like memory care is segregated from the rest of the community. When we moved our loved one in we were told it was one big community. Seems like they cater to IL and AL They have wonderful food and dining for them. Memory are does not get the same quality even though we are paying the most to live there.some management has acted unprofessional to the point of telling some people I’f they don’t like it there then we could get the f out and she would have boxes to help us pack! OMG

If you’re considering placing your loved one with dementia here, RUN! The corporate and management team have no compassion or care for the memory care. Out of sight, out of mind seems to be their motto.

My mother moved into Artisan in [date removed]. She was very resistant to moving. Artisan was the sixth place we looked at. The full kitchen, dinning room, risk assessments, laundry in the unit, sensors in the units, friendly staff and possibilities of podiatrist, hair dressers, med delivery, walk in shower, and nurse practitioners in her apartment have only added to our satisfaction with our choice. I can’t recommend highly enough. They have lots of activities too but my mother is not a joiner.

I think the facility itself is fine if you were putting a friend or family member in the independent area. If you were thinking about the memory care wing, I would not suggest it. Management is really good about saying hello and how are you. The aides in the memory care unit are unskilled people sitting around on their cell phones. I don't see a lot of interaction between the aides and the residents in the memory care area. If a manager turns a corner, they all jump up. If no manager, they are all sitting around.

Our family had an in person tour and we loved the Artisan community but we thought it was a little to big of a community and not as intimate.
Our family had an in person tour and this community is very nice but the location was just to far away and the price was a little to high.
The food quality is good but they are struggling with staffing to serve everyone. I would recommend this community for your loved one. They have activities like functions in the dinning hall, movies in the video room, sing a longs and places where people can cook if they would like to.

Although my niece was admitted to the memory unit at Artisan just a week ago, it has been a very positive experience. From the initial phone call with [name removed] to her admission the process was seamless. [name removed] is wonderful and spent a lot of time with me on the phone and during our tour. In addition, the rest of the staff and caregivers have been friendly, kind and compassionate. The facility is new so the surroundings are beautiful and welcoming. Thanks for all you are doing!

Wow .... just WOW what a wonderful experience moving my Mom into the Artisan in Hudson Ma. Let me tell you my sisters and brother did a lot of research to place my Mom into assisted living and we feel we made the best decision by placing her there . The facility is Beautiful and the Staff is so FRIENDLY. My Moms move went smoothly and the staff made her first few days there like she was part of their family .I hope anyone considering long term care for loved one will take a look at this fantastic facility you won’t be disappointed. By the way the FOOD is DELICIOUS

Mere words cannot express how strongly I feel about the amazing organization that is Artisan at Hudson. These folks are a team, and they are also like family. They are responsive to the needs of not only the residents, but also the family members. I would recommend Artisan at Hudson to anyone who is seeking the perfect new home for a loved one.

A Place for Mom has scored Artisan at Hudson 7.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
