The staff have been very helpful. They've listened to everything we've had to say and all the questions we've had for them. They've done the things that they could to get our loved one involved. She's actually eating, which is great because she was hardly eating when she was living alone. So the food must be pretty good. I would recommend New Horizons to other families.
New Horizons at Marlborough is a beautiful, wonderful, lovely and clean community with a great staff team and contracted care givers.
This community is a 5+, we have had a very positive experience with New Horizons. At the moment they have no positive cases of COVID. They have done an exceptional job of taking care of the residents during this time. The staff members are amazing. It was evident during the times when we would visit how caring the staff members were to the residents. They really made us feel welcomed and comfortable. New Horizons is a very reasonably priced assistant living option and covers everything our loved one needs. They have a basic package you can chose from, as well as other package should additional services be needed. Our loved one is being fed three meals a day, and we have really seen a huge difference in her health since she moved into New Horizons. The feedback on the food is excellent, we can also experienced this while there as a lunch guest. Our loved one is very happy here. The communication is amazing, we get weekly reports about how the community and residents are doing. We really could not be happier. Their process during this COVID-19 pandemic has been exemplary - and at this time they are allowing visits by appointment. The staff escorts all outsiders in the facility to manage the flow of people of people and maintain the health and safety of the residents. The facility has many great open spaces where you can go hang by yourself or socialize with the staff and other residents. An example of their fun activities is cookie Tuesday’s where the staff delivers fresh baked cookies to all the residents. They also have a weekly activities board that shows you all the daily activities for that week. In the past, pre-COVID they would bring in outside talent like bands, and on Friday nights they have wine and cheese. They are currently starting to bring back movie nights. They also have a paint studio and a nursery. I believe this community is set on 30 acres, where there is a chapel. It is really gorgeous, and there is truly something for everyone at this community.
They have had zero cases of Covid-19 at the community and have been doing an exceptional job protecting the residents. Up and down the spectrum of staff at New Horizons, they have been very open, transparent, and communicative about sending weekly information keeping families up to date on what they are doing to keep residents safe. The services have been great, although cut down during the pandemic. Compared to other communities in the area, New Horizons is a great value.
hi, New Horizons staff is helpful and dedicated to making things right. I have found they listen to you and do their best to make it right. The community offers many activities and trips so one can choose whichever is of interest. In the 420 building there were many occasions to talk with and meet other independents. I have since moved the newly opened villas because this apt included a patio. So, there is much for anyone to do or participate in. Also, perspective residents usually talk with another resident to answer questions by a non staff person. this was a great choice for me. thank you for your help, [name removed]
I have been at New Horizons since June. Everyone has been very welcoming. The apartment is spacious and I love not having to shop for, cook or clean up after dinner! There is always a choice of entrees at dinner and the food is good. Great home-made soups!
Visited New Horizons in Marlborough [date removed]. Met with [name removed], who was very informative and gave me a tour of the facilities, along with a brochure with information regarding programs, living options and amenities. It was a good visit. Concerned that the apartment sizes would be too small for my in-laws, but everything else was positive.
I toured this community for my father, and his needs. My tour went well, it was a nice experience. The community looked nice, and everything appeared to be well-kept. The staff was kind, and helpful. They answered my questions, and everything with well overall.

seems this does not match my desires; I don't want senior housing. I want retirement community where I have walking trails and activities and ablility to walk dogs

This is a nice community, and I would recommend it. They were very kind, and accommodating. The staff was very helpful, and kind. There are plenty of activities offered for the residents. The meals are nice. The community looks great, they do a very good job with the cleanliness. [Removed] from a place for mom was very helpful as well. This is a great community.
Visit went well & the place is emasculate and very easy to get around. I did not like having such small refrigerators in the rooms. The staff and people who I met were very friendly. I should have used a list of prepared questions, because I didn't ask a lot of them, which had to do with general room upkeep. I need to print out the Touring Checklist that you recommended. I don't have a printer so I will have to find away to get copies before I visit another place.
I toured this community and really liked the staff. We did not want a community that was big. He wanted a certain type of the community. The staff was caring and nice and it was a lovely community. We did like the variety of the meals. Families might want to tour this nice community for the care of a loved one.
The staff we met at this community were nice, however they did not seem as outgoing with the other staff members as the community we chose. The community was clean.
The community is very warm and welcoming from first visit forward.
New Horizons is a beautiful facility. It is spacious and always seems to be well run. It is always clean and airy here. The staff is very communicative and pleasant. The other residents here are a joy also.

We toured this community while looking into senior living options for a loved one. New Horizons at Marlboro was a very nice looking place, and it was our second choice out of all of the communities that we toured. The facility itself was well kept and clean, and everyone seemed very friendly. It just seemed a bit larger than what my loved one would be comfortable with.

My parents were at New Horizons for a 30 day respite/rehab stay following her hip surgery. The staff there were incredibly responsive about working out their admission with very little advanced notice. It was a fabulous experience and wonderful place. I hope they return when they feel ready to transition from their home to assisted living.

We checked out 6 facilities over 2 days. Based on all criteria (in addition to my Mom knowing some of the residents) NH was her first choice. The monthly service fee was substantially less than all other choices. This choice was the best value for us. In one short meeting we were able to take care of almost all of the paperwork. Mom has been in almost a week now. The staff is extremely friendly/helpful. The residents are so happy. The building is kept immaculate. The food is delicious. There is an abundance of activities available every day. The grounds, the chapel, the fish pond, the greenhouse are all beautiful. We are confident that if/when the time comes that Mom needs more care, we have no doubt she will be well cared for. There is a peace of mind that comes to both Mom and her family knowing that all her needs are being met and she is happy and dealing with so much less stress. Highly recommend New Horizons and so happy that we made this choice.

We apologize for the delay in response to your comment, but are delighted to know that your mother enjoyed her tour of New Horizons. As regards the $30,000 entrance fee, we have found that this amount is comparable to other similar communities in the area. Additionally, unlike most retirement communities, New Horizons refunds 100 percent of this fee upon departure. These 100-percent refunds are always made within 90 days (and typically within 45 days) of termination of a Resident Agreement. Additionally, we are currently offering a “rate freeze” for all residents, which guarantees no increase at all in “room and board” charges for at least their first five full years of occupancy. This special offer applies to all fees for lodging, meals, housekeeping, activities, local transportation, water, heat, air conditioning, electric service, etc. We would be delighted to answer any questions you may have about this or other aspects of life at New Horizons.
Things seem to be going very well at New Horizons! It really is a beautiful place, and I think they do a great job looking after our elderly loved ones. The staff have all been very friendly and helpful, and they do a great job keeping the facility clean and well kept. From what I have heard from my loved one they do a great job with the food as well!
