Great community involvement and individualized care.
The services are very personalized for the resident. It is a relatively small facility so they can afford to provide that level of attention. That, the openness to the greater community through hosting cultural events were the reasons we chose SLC. And of course, the minimal entry fee made this much more accessible for her to move in without consulting a lot of her financial resources.
About the facility Scandinavian Living Center
The Scandinavian Living Center, open to all nationalities, is a non-profit community set on three beautiful acres in a lovely residential area near Boston. With only forty apartments, its small size and bright space promote a warm and intimate family-like atmosphere where residents enjoy the highest level of comfort and independence. Residents benefit from a full range of services as well as a caring and supportive 24-hour on-site staff, state of the art fitness center with customized exercise program, quiet reading in the library, sipping coffee with friends in the café or delighting in activities such as yoga, lectures, movies, art exhibitions or recitals in its wonderful entertainment room, the Nordic Hall. Longevity of staff, its community-wide offerings and its emphasis on the Scandinavian philosophy of autonomy and dignity for older adults make this an attractive choice for those seeking assistance with activities of daily living or merely a stress-free way of life. Its mission is to be a life-enhancing community that celebrates senior living through a commitment to healthy minds and active bodies.

Our families experience
The whole place has a very friendly atmosphere. SLC offers a lot of programs that are open to people who live in the surrounding community, so the residents feel like they are still part of the community. The food is very good.
I would recommend Scandinavian Living Center to others.

I have been here [time frame removed]. I have an apartment and go to the dining room for meals. The food is very good. I go to the fitness room. At [time and days of the week removed] to ride then step bike for 30 minutes and go a mile.
