Why Camp Reveille?

Our 2014 contest winner Debbie Keys shares her experience:

"In order to give care to another person, it is essential to be emotionally, physically, and spiritually replenished and recharged. If you are totally spent in any of these areas, compensating for the lack only depletes the other areas that much faster. You can only give away what is yours to give.

When I think of my depleted state of being before Camp Reveille and my renewed and replenished condition after, I am so blessed and grateful for the opportunity to have true "me time" and to be cared for. When I returned home, I had a replenished abundance of love, patience, and joy to share with my mom as her caregiver and as her daughter."

A Place for Mom Senior Living Advisor Sara Dannettel also had the chance to attend the getaway:

"Camp Reveille helped me to focus on taking time for me. Between the educational classes, team events, exercise classes, and healing sessions, I made new friends in others and made peace with myself.  I was in awe and inspired by the entire experience. The campgrounds were beautiful, and the staff were so attentive and helpful and really helped make the weekend special."

In 2015, we sent a caregiver who works at one of our senior living partner communities Brookdale Minnetonka. Read the esssay in which the Health and Wellness Director nominated her
