Independent Living

Independent Living Communities offer seniors a handy balance between an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with chores. Basic tasks such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they choose, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they prefer. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent medical professionalls, they may always do so. There are a variety of benefits and expenditures to keep in mind while choosing an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are covered in your care plan: parking, meals, wellness program, Waiting list deposit, internet access, housekeeping, utilities, and initial assessment fee. The amenities that pertain to independent living include beauty salon & barber shop, laundry service, security guards, fitness center & swimming pool, concierge services, healthcare center, private rental hall, and transportation.
