Independent Living

An Independent Living Community permits residents the opportunity to live an active life while assuring their basic needs are met. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of for you while you are unrestricted to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a variety of expenditures and advantages to balance when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your plan: move-in fee, parking, housekeeping, wellness program, cable TV, meals, internet access, and transportation. The amenities that pertain to independent living include private rental hall, transportation, community activities, golf course, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, security guards, and beauty salon & barber shop.
