Independent Living

An Independent Living Community provides residents the choice to live an active life while making sure their basic needs have been fulfilled. Basic tasks such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they see fit, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies vary between locations, numerous residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent health care providers, they may always do so. There are a variety of advantages and expenses to balance while selecting an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in the plan: cable TV, internet access, laundry, field trips, parking, utilities, private phone, and wellness program. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include private rental hall, restaurant-style dining hall, concierge services, beauty salon & barber shop, community activities, laundry service, fitness center & swimming pool, and game/TV room.
