My dad is in a wheelchair and we liked how spacious and open Brookdale was. He likes to tool around and go on adventures and it had plenty of space for him to do that. The room size is perfect for what he needs. I have not eaten the food but my dad seems to love it. We have had a very good experience so far, he likes it and is fitting in well. Our family had an in person tour and the tour was fantastic, everyone that we met with was incredible nice. However they were not able to accept our loved one based on his behavior during the interview process which we came to understand completely.
This community is on a conservation and it is more quiet and private type of community.
We chose Brookdale Eddy Pond East because of the location of the facility for family and I have friends who work with the industry and they all gave it big thumbs up. They were super responsive when I was searching, but they were a little pushy. The room size that she is in is adequate for her needs, they do have options on room sizes as well. The food is not always hot when served, and some foods are over salted. She is also diabetic and they have very few options for diabetic deserts, so I think they could provide more options there. I visited a few weekends ago and there was a fire in the building overnight. They handled it superbly and I was very impressed. I would highly recommend to others who are looking.
Our family's experience with Brookdale has been very good so far, the only incident we had was just in the beginning. Our loved one was given an alarm push button for whenever she needed help and they tested it, it was working fine but she had fallen and needed help and the button was not working. We brought this to the nurses attention and they replaced it immediately and it has worked ever since. The staff members are very friendly and our loved one has made several friends. There was a fire there about a week ago and they evacuated the residents very smoothly, everything worked out very well and the staff members and fire department had great response times. At that point we really noticed they are very well trained and really care for the residents. Our loved one used to make her own meals from scratch growing up, so sometimes the meals are a hit or miss but she is still adjusting. The care givers check on our loved one several times a day, and there is a nursing station right next door.
Our deciding factor to choose Brookdale was the pro-activeness of the staff members who worked with our family and mother. They worked very well with the rehab center our loved one was at, and was the first to evaluate our loved ones health which was meaningful to us. Also they are one of the few facilities that provide at heart services at a cost, and other facilities incorporate it into the monthly rate. Brookdale has a resident monthly fee and we add on our additional services, for example we are paying extra to have them monitor our loved ones medication.
We chose Brookdale Eddy Pond East because of the location, positive reviews that I read online, and the staff members here are wonderful. The administrative staff are amazing, especially the director. I have had a couple of issues with medications and was told I was not able to come in. I do have to manage her medications and if I call the director, she tells me to just go and is very supportive. I am disappointed in the food especially for what they are paying. The quality is not good, it is mostly canned and frozen foods rather than fresh, and the portions are small. That is their only complaint. I have such peace of mind having both of my parents here and I would absolutely recommend them.
[name removed] was great and very informative. The facility seemed very nice and seemed as though they had a close knit group of residents. This will be one I keep as a possibility for my mom in the future. I liked the fact my mom would be able stay in the same apartment while going to different stages of her ageing.
I would recommend this community for your loved ones. The residents are happy. The staff are accommodating for the residents. The staff is able to get back to me within 24 hours with any questions or concerns I have. The food is good, and I was able to eat with my loved one prior to the pandemic.
I would recommend this community to friends. I really think the staff has gone above and beyond. Every time we have gone, the staff has always talked to us and let us know what is going on. The room for my loved is in is an apartment. It includes a room, kitchenette, a refrigerator, pantry, microwave (it's my loved one's own), free TV service which includes cable, ability to have a phone (paid for by the family), large closet, and a large bathroom with a walk in shower. This is an end unit and it has four good size windows. The room is light filled. The grounds are very nice, and has a walking path. This allows my loved one to see people walking from her room.
My mother is happy with the services at Brookdale. She feels like a princess! The staff is great. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff has been great with keeping the residents safe and they are clearly personally invested in the well being of my loved one. All levels of staff, from the director to the food service staff are all very invested. They do not have much turnover either. They take great care of everyone. They have been great about engaging the residents during lock down and keeping them involved as best they can. They have also been great with communicating with me about my mother's care. We can call at any time and they will be happy to accommodate. We feel like they are extended family!
Overall, the place is immaculate. Other than one of the front desk staff, everyone has been so helpful and they have really persevered with my aunt and everything is going terrifically. They have done a great job with managing my aunt's diabetic medication. Previous to this community, she had repeated trips to the hospital for blood sugar issues, and that has not happened once with Brookdale. Even through some of my aunt's troubling behaviors, the staff won her over and treated her with nothing but kindness. In addition to that, they also provide adequate activities and will even take the residents off-community, which my aunt really enjoyed.
The folks at Eddy Pond really rolled out the red carpet for us when we visited and mom loved it. She lived here happily for several months before finally going to hospice. She enjoyed the music programs on Sunday afternoons and made a few very nice friends among the staff and other residents. Our family was very happy with mom's Brookdale experience and would recommend it to others.
This is a nice community, and I had a nice tour of it. Everyone was very kind to my family, and I. The community looked nice. The staff was informative, and everything went well overall.
I am happy that my mom is in this community for the great care that she is receiving from the wonderful staff. The environment is clean and the offer a lot of good healthy meals. We like knowing that she is active with the other residents. We would recommend the care the staff for other families. We like that this community is close to home so it is more convenient to get to my mom.
Met with [removed] at the facility and was impressed with both her as a person, very helpful, honest and sincere, and the facility and what it has to offer, made me feel much better about the process of finding my mother suitable care and a home.
I toured this community for my mother and her needs. Everything went well overall. The staff I met was very kind and friendly. The community looked nice, and everything was well maintained and clean. They were very kind to my family and I. It was a good experience, and this is a likable community.
We have had a very good experience with them so far. This was the first place I brought my mother too and she wouldn't even go inside. One thing that impressed me about the place was one of the managers offered to have his outreach nurse to come visit my mother in her home. She made a good impression on my mother and i think that helped to get her to visit the facility. They were very good about helping us to get her in and the transition to the appropriate care level.
