This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must provide medical nutrition therapy if prescribed by a licensed health care professional, Food must be prepared in accordance with the recommended daily dietary allowances of the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences National Research Council, and three daily meals and snacks must be provided. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as The home must complete a service plan in cooperation with each resident and/or their representative, service plan identifies the individual’s specific needs for care, A comprehensive written assessment that that describes prescribed treatments and medications that must be provided to the community prior to admission, and service plan takes into account the preferences and competency of the resident. Public assistance is available through Medicaid State Plan. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 21.
