This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must serve daily at least three meals, Alternate food selections must be available for residents on medically prescribed diets, Snacks and beverages must be available throughout the day and after the evening meal, and meals must meet the Dietary Reference Intakes of the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as plan of care developed by the community in cooperation with the resident and, if appropriate, their representative and medical examination by a physician prior to admission.
