Assisted living facilities offer residential living communities and health care to your loved one who might need a helping hand with everyday activities such as bathing or mobility. Assisted living facilities usually provide opportunities for social activity, aid with transit and appointments, and assistance with the activities of daily life. In some instances, facilities may offer continuing care, respite, or skilled nursing care. In Alabama, the annual median cost for an assisted living facility is around $39,000 . This facility type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include self-administration of medication if capable. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as plan of care developed by the facility in cooperation with the resident and, if appropriate, their representative and medical examination by a physician prior to admission. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. The minimum number of residents for this facility type is 2.
