Assisted living communities provide apartment style housing and social interaction as well as personalized assistance. The services offered often involve aid with the activities of daily life. Occupants may be kept under supervision and evaluation. Under certain circumstances, communities may provide “aging in place”, dementia care, or respite. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 2. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents.
