Ultimate Care Senior Living Management

I have tears in my eyes (of joy and gratitude) while reading my mom’s letter to me. She has been in The Bristal at Lake Grove for about five months and she loves it. She said that she feels better than she ever has felt before in her life. She loves all of the activities, going out to eat, and recently going to Jakes (she had SO MUCH FUN). She never would have be able to do this when she lived alone- she writes that she does not feel alone anymore. She lived 55 years in her home and I never would have thought that she would have adjusted so well so soon -she raised her family in her home. But, we lived 45 mins away and if she had to go to the ER or doctor she would wait to tell us. Now, if she needs medical care she goes right down to wellness. She enjoys the delicious meals, made to order. She goes to balloon volley ball and Zumba. She just called me and said she saw the movie “Unstoppable,” and she loved it. She goes to the movies at least 2 X week. When she was living by herself, rarely ever. She has made new friends and is very sociable. I am indebted to the kind and helpful Staff, to [name removed] no who kindly took our hands and showed us the home, answering any questions we had and got the ball rolling in motion. I could never thank The Bristal at Lake Grove enough for bringing my mom back to me. This is a success story. Her quality of life and happiness are so much greater. Please consider The Bristal at Lake Grove. You will fall in love with it the way me and my mom have. You will never look back, only forward.

My mother is a resident at the Bristol Memory Care Assisted Living. In Lake Success I have never seen a more compassionate staff ,each resident is always addressed by their first name and everyone is always clean and neat.The facility is just beautiful and spotless,the bedrooms are spacious and light filled. The staff (including the administrative staff)is responsive to any questions I think the best recommendation is from my mother who only has good things to say about her experience and is always happy to go back after an outing with us. When we speak about the food she will tell us how good it is and if there is something on the menu that she doesn’t care for there is always an additional option to choose from. I will always be grateful to the staff for helping to make my mother happy in her home.

The staff is attentive and caring and help promote a friendly comfortable atmosphere for all of the residents. The executive director and the administration seem to be on top of ensuring the well being and enjoyment of the residents. They do a good job of communicating any issues with the family of the residents. The residents seem to like one another creating a nice social setting.

My name is [name removed]. I am resident at The Bristals at Lake Grove, NY. I just celebrated my third month here ([date removed]). It was an adjustment after selling my home, where I lived for 53 years. I have a lovely room and enjoy all of the activities: Bingo, exercise, movies, etc. They always celebrate holidays with music and refreshments. I have made friends here. The whole staff is very accommodating . It is like living at a five star hotel.

We chose The Bristal at Garden City after visiting a few other assisted living facilities in Nassau County. My mom had stayed in the Bristal In North Woodmere for a few years and for the most part we were happy to have her there. My mother-in-law had just come out of a horrible experience at Parker rehab after breaking he shoulder in 3 places and her opposite pelvis. It took several weeks to regain some mobility and we needed a place where wheel chairs would be allowed. There we're several brand new Bristals in Nassau, and they all recommended the one in Garden City for a transition. My mother-in-law was expecting to go back to her apartment after a month, so she was willing to try it out. [Name removed] the sales person was very nice and escorted us around the entire facility as well as some of the different rooms. [Name removed], the director is absolutely terrific. Not only is she a warm and considerate person, but she has managed to assemble a staff that seems to really uphold the mantra that the customer or in this case the resident is the most important person here. Everyone from the front desk and administrative team, to the Entertainment staff, especially [name removed], to the guy and gals who maintain the facility, set up the TV's , handle the laundry, the medicine, and virtually every other need is genuinely nice. [Name removed] and her medical team are very caring and very understanding of the needs of the elderly. And to our surprise, the chef is terrific, and there has been nothing but praise about the food. We didn't expect to hear it, but my mother-in-law really likes the place and decided to make it a full time residency, and has already been there for close to 4 months now. If you are looking for a safe place that has professional staff who are considerate of your parent's needs and desires, this place has to be one of the best. [Name removed] sets the tone, and her total team follows suit.

I am a Healthcare Professional who owns a Home Care Agency. I am a frequent visitor to this Community (as residents occasionally call upon my Agency to provide short-term, one-on-one assistance for Mom or Dad in addition to the services they receive at The Bristal). I have also referred a number of families to The Bristal at North Woodmere. The staff is extremely warm, friendly, welcoming and professional, while the Community itself is clean, gorgeous, and vibrant. This is a direct reflection on the Staff, as well as on the Bristal Philosophy and Mission Statement. From the ED, [name removed], to Wellness Director [name removed], and on down to Food Services, Recreation, Housekeeping, Wait Staff and the Front Desk, every member of the Bristal Team takes it upon themself to engage the Residents individually, and to make them feel like they are respected and valued member of the Community. I am most impressed with how "social" the atmosphere at the Bristal feels. There is always a buzz in the lunch room (where Food Services Director [name removed] takes great pride in providing delicious and creative meals and snacks). And there is a constant bustle of activity - from Music Programs, to regular Card games, to Movies, and of course everyone's favorite: Bingo! There are also frequent Bus Trips for Outside activities like the Beach, Broadway Plays, and other Special Events. The rooms are beautiful, and provide a true feeling of home when the Residents have had their fill of the daily activities in the Community. DCR [name removed] is often giving tours of the building during my visits, and takes great pride in helping families make an informed, UN-pressured decision as to whether her Community is the "right fit" for the family's Loved One. I am frankly a bit envious of the amenities, luxury and pampering that Bristal North Woodmere residents get to experience, and would wholeheartedly recommend this Community for families looking to ensure that Mom and Dad get the most out of their Senior Years!

After careful consideration, our family made the absolute right choice. The food is great, the staff was always attentive and accommodating in every way and Dad enjoyed the warm family feel of the facility. It would be hard to beat the professionalism and caring nature of this staff, highly recommended.

I have toured many assisted living before deciding to place my family member here. I am so pleased with the decision! You can tell the management truly cares about us and it stems off into all the other workers. [Name removed] went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and I would recommend this place to anyone looking!

We had both my father and mother at Bristol in Sayville and both had positive experience with the staff. My mother ended up in the Reflections unit and had great treatment and my father would come over and stay with her all day. End of life came for her and the hospice set up was very helpful for the family. My father has continued to live at Bristol and is happy with his studio apartment, the care they give him keeps him busy. Overall, we could not find a better place for our aging parents.

My mom is looking better than she did 5 years ago. The staff is the best, the facility is beautiful can’t say enough good things- you do have to stay on them about cleaning her apartment but, when you do they take care of it. This is the Rolls Royce of assisted living facilities.

When my brother's Alzheimer's disease rapidly worsened last summer, I realized I could no longer take care of him and would need to find a nearby memory care unit. I interviewed five nearby places and believe that I made the correct choice. Both my brother and I are retired physicians and I understand the special kind of calling which is required to work in a memory care unit, where all residents are gradually losing ground. The staff of the Bristal, top to bottom, seem to have this calling: they provided sensitive compassionate care from the very beginning. I was initially so upset it took me a couple weeks to finalize what I knew was the right decision. There has been no looking back. My brother is always well groomed and looked after. There is a geriatric psychiatrist who visits weekly and with whom I had a couple of good conversations at the beginning (I may have gotten special treatment because of being a physician myself). I would recommend this paradoxically cheerful and lovely place to anyone.

We placed my mother, 91 years old, at the Bristal at Holtsville mid 2018. She was critical of the change, but I encouraged her to stay a few months because it was the best solution for her well-being at the time. Two months later, during one of my calls to her on her cell phone, I asked her what she thought about her stay there. To my surprise she said to me, "I can't speak to you now, I am too busy". Well, that told me everything. Seven months later she continues to tell me that she is having so much fun that she can't stop laughing. Now if that isn't one of the best things to hear from an elderly mother, I don't know what is. Enough said!!!

My 92 yo mom arrived at the Bristal a few months ago after having lived in the city for the last 50 years. Everyone there made the transition as comfortable as possible for her. The facilities, food, services activities and staff are all wonderful. I have peace of mind that she is in the best of hands.

Our Mom passed away last March and Dads dementia progressed. After trying to keep him home, I looked around places for memory care. I was so impressed, it was large ,he could walk around, a cinema. I felt so good about the Bristal . When we brought him there we did not know what he would do. He looked at us and said why didn’t we bring him sooner. The staff was so welcoming and they are still the most caring people to him and the other residents and to us when we are there. He feels so safe, he jokes with everyone and he Does activities. We could not be happier and satisfied with our decision.

It took almost a year to get mom to give it a try left deposit - got deposit back - she said they would never live at the Bristal My mom is a very personable person and I knew Bristal would be perfect for her After my dad past last year asked my mom to give Bristal a try...waited a while for an available room - with the staff making the impossible happen in a record time (at Christmas time with losing her 24/7 help and me going on vacation they got her in Christmas Eve- first time in a long time went on vacation without to worry!!) My brother and I got her settled in her room and she went for lunch - we met her after and her firsts words where I love it here!! And it has been that way every day - we can’t Reach her by phone until after 7 pm she is never in her room! I can’t say enough about Bristal the staff, food with plenty of choices, everyone who works there is always smiling and helpful in any way! They have truly made our lives easier all meds are ordered and delivered to mom’s room - which has taken a weight off my shoulders! This was the best choice for our mom it had made her more alive...oh and don’t get in her way at 4 for bingo!

Excellent staff especially [name removed] and [name removed] who treat my mom like family. Experience has been A plus since day one. Staff is trained to be patient caring and anticipating of needs --understanding of senior population and anticipating emotional, physical and financial needs. Housing is on the luxury side, clean and activities varied. Friendly and upbeat environment. This was a big step to go from independent living to senior living and we are so happy we did.

I liked that the staff is interested in my Mother's personality and preference. They asked questions that would help them to help her fit in and seemed overall to be positively involved with the residents. This is the facility in which I will be placing my Mother.

My 95 year old mother moved into the Bristal In West Babylon a few months ago, relocating from years of living in Florida. This was a big adjustment for her and we were hoping she would acclimate well to her new environment, assisted living vs. independent living. The apartment is lovely and the people who work there have made her move a truly great experience. The activities are diversified, keep her busy (even more than she ever was in Florida). My mother continuously says how wonderful all the staff is. They are extremely helpful, caring and know everyone's names. She enjoys the food, the socials and the outside trips they have. The Bristal always welcomes family to visit which is a wonderful plus. We are glad we moved her here.

It was a difficult decision but the best thing I have done for my mom. I really feel in the 3 months she has been there her quality of life has improved immensely. She has a social life doing arts and crafts, exercises, playing cards trips to the stores. Just everyday interaction with people her age. And the staff is so friendly and caring.
