My Review of Wyndmoor of Castleston

While no facility is perfect...this place is overall a great place. As with everywhere COVID has effected our facility but the admin has taken our safety very seriously and has taken many protective measures to protect us.

Our families experience

Our family has had a few encounters with the nursing staff that turned out to be very unpleasant. They have screwed up our loved ones medication consistently, over and over since day one.

Would recommend it

Overall our experience has good been good, and the community is expensive but it is one of the least in terms of value in the area. We do believe the activities are still shut down for the most part.

Horrible experience - DO NOT RECOMMEND

I spoke with [name removed], Director of Nursing, [name removed], Executive Director and [name removed]. All of these individuals have been rude. [name removed] stated she has the ability to deny a potential resident for whatever reasons she chooses. She would not provide reasons why my father would not be able to be a resident. She also stated that they do not have the ability to care for patients. This is not an ASSISTED Living facility she stated they only take fully independent residents. Do not choose this facility.

Our experience at Wyndmoor

For the most part, the staff was very nice and responsive. The front desk people were always very kind and helpful. For months, we were only able to do window visits, so it was hard to tell what exactly was going. on. At the end, they did allow our family to come in and be with our loved one, which was really nice considering all the Covid restrictions. Sometimes they've been understaffed, but even so, they've been fairly responsive. I think food is the biggest issue right now. It has been delivered to the rooms in a Styrofoam box, is frequently cold, and one day there was a chicken breast and nothing else. It's pretty bland, with not much variety. On the flipside, we understand how challenging it is to deliver hundreds of meals a day, and I think that they're trying. They're back to alternating floors to come into the dining room, so it's a little better there served warm. There was an issue with some of the aides, but they are no longer employed there.

Friendly, Caring Place for Elderly Loved Ones

It really is a good place to have a loved one in. The nurses and the assistants are friendly and caring. This is a place we don't have to worry that our parents aren't getting the care they need.

This facility is wonderful! Everyone is friendly. The staff are so helpful. I feel safe here. When I have been ill they have taken care of me. There are many things to do, including a raised garden, movies, board games and cards, daily crossword puzzles, sudoku, jumbo. They have washers and dryers available and a huge library.

The brilliance of this community is they exceptional, and caring staff. The staff knows what they are doing. The administration team also knows what they are doing, especially during an end of life situation. My concerns wasn't about the look of the building. I was more concerned with the exceptional care my loved one received.

Placement during the pandemic

We had a great experience working with Pam and the rest of the staff at the Wyndmoor this summer. It was a challenge to find the right community fit for my father during the pandemic but the folks at Wyndmoor made it very easy, hosting virtual tours, and worked with us on getting my father moved in while keeping all the staff and residents of the community safe and healthy!

Wyndmoor an outstanding community!

The Wyndmoor is a warm and caring place for your loved one to live. They have excellent staff at every level. During these difficult pandemic times they are taking extra precautions to protect their community from covid which they are doing a great job. My brother and I were able to see our mom several times this year in a fixed setting. It was a blessing we were able to see her face to face at a social distancing setup. During normal times the Wyndmoor staff has several events for residents and their families which are a lot of fun. Keep up the great job Wyndmoor!

Selecting Wyndmoor

Looking for an assisted living residence for my Aunt looked to be a daunting task in the time of Covid. Wyndmoor rose to the top of the list because of their strict guidelines and adherence to them in protecting their residents. The guidelines prevented us from touring the residence, but video and zoom calls allowed us to fill in the picture of life at Wyndmoor. Most of all, the staff accommodated all requests for info with quick response times and complete answers. We chose Wyndmoor and my Aunt is happy and safe in a friendly and professional environment.

Why we chose Wyndmoor in the time of Covid.

Choosing an assisted living home for my Aunt looked to be a challenge during Covid. Wyndmoor of Castleton rose to the top of the list because of their strict guidelines proving reliable protection against Covid in their efforts to protect the residents. Frequent questions and quick responses confirmed their professional outlook and willingness to keep us informed in the process. While we were unable to tour, information and in person meetings outside of the building were appreciated. Again, we understood their dedicated intentions of protecting their residents. We chose Wyndmoor and the experience for my Aunt is everything and more that she needs for comfort and safety.
