An assisted living community is a residential living community which offers supervision, assistance, and care to healthy persons who are not in need of skilled nursing support. The services offered often include aid with activities of daily living. Residents may be kept under monitoring and evaluation. In certain instances, communities may offer respite, hospice, or Alzheimer’s care. In Rhode Island, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $52,500 .
