September 27, 2023Thank you Michelle, for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your feedback is deeply valued, and we're delighted to hear that your aunt is thriving in our care. Your compliments will be passed on to Connie and the team. Thank you once more, and we extend our best wishes to you. Warm regards, Kathleen
The experience has been good for my loved ones and family, overall. The community seems to be understaffed and this is the reason for my rating of a 3. My loved ones have experienced a lot of delays in getting requests resolved that they have spoken to the community about.

July 25, 2022Thank you so much Christian, for taking time to share your review of Anchor Bay at Pocasset. We value your opinion deeply and will share your positive review as well as your feedback with our leadership. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! Kind regards, Alison
This was a good community. It seemed to be a little smaller than what we were looking for. Also the location was further away than where we wanted our loved one to be. It was also not as up to date as another community that we went to look at.

This community has friendly personnel and residents. There is always something to do and this is just a good place to live. There are work out programs 5 days a week. They also have a chorus that sings from time to time, entertainment that comes in a few times a week, card games, and board games, all kinds of things for the residents to do.

We chose Anchor Bay because of the proximity as well as their quick response time. The staff were super helpful with getting everything set up and moved in. The room size for assisted living was on the smaller side, but it worked for what she needed at the time. I would recommend to others looking.

The activities are opening back up, we can say that have done a fantastic job and doing their best getting the activities back. It is certainly a clean and beautiful place, physically the building and rooms are very nice. However, the people there have just been so easy to work with, and they sincerely have our loved ones best interest in mind.

We chose Anchor Bay at Pocasset at the time because of the cost of the facility. The apartment sizes here are really nice. It is hard to give an assessment right now because of the restrictions from covid that are still in place. So far my mom has been happy with it so I am happy.

The entire experience of moving your loved one from their family home into a community is emotional and difficult , but when done at the right time to the right place, it can be a beautiful experience. Anchor Bay is that experience for us. The staff are warm, loving, compassion, kind, and treat the residents with resident. The staff have been very aware and understanding of my mom's needs which has meant so much to us. We could n't be more grateful that we found Anchor Bay.

Nursing staff not informed of changes to Mom's care by Nursing Supervisor. Communication is poor. Some days bathroom was not cleaned properly. Care services that were paid for were not given without reminders from family.

I have no complaints about how things went for my loved one and I during our tour of this community. The staff where on time to our tour and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. I liked the open floor plan and all of the great amenities they had to offer all of the residents. Overall great place and I would recommend it to anyone.

There were a few things that have concerned me since my friend moved into Brookdale Pocasset Bay.One day she wasn't feeling well. She was in her room all day and no one did a "wellness" check on her. I feel like they should be more attentive if a patient is ill. There was another thing, the one of the housekeepers broke a very valuable trinket. She didn't report but I think she should have. Other than that it's a very nice place. I've eaten lunch with her a few times and the food is very good. She liked that the community is in a familiar area and they gave her a special to move in.

My mother-in law has been a resident since 2008. She lived there in her own apt. She is now 97. While looking for assisted living alternatives & with some assets still left in the bank. We were concerned about whether if once her assets ran out, she could stay there & once reliant on Medicaid, that there would be a room available for her. We were told by the social worker to take the available room immediately while she still had a couple of months worth of rent payments left & that Medicaid would kick-in after that & she would be set.........This is not the case & we were told by the Director that we would have to make other arrangements for her once her funds ran out...... Stay tuned. State & Federal agencies are being contacted by the facility to see what their final determination will be.

The community is great over all. It's very clean, and it's a good value for the money. However, I do find that the staff isn't as inclusive as I would like to see them be with the residents.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. This seemed like a nice place overall, but I did not like the fact that residents using medicaid waivers were limited to shared rooms.

My Dad seems to be enjoying himself here. It is a nice place, and the people are all very friendly. The staff have all been very friendly, and they take good care of the place. Although we hear complaints about specific meals here and there, in general Dad seems to enjoy the food. We've had small issues here and there, but they've all been easy to take care of, we haven't had any major problems. Their rates have been very reasonable compared to others we looked at.

It was good; however, the food. Everytihng was pasta, so being a diabetic, having high blood pressure, they had pasta for every single thing and they didn't havew any choices like weight watchers or low sodium or something like that. For whatever reason, it seems to have a major turnover in staff, they switched management and there was a lot of turnover. It didn't really affect her care, but it was upsetting to her not to have the same people taking care of her.

A Place for Mom has scored Anchor Bay at Pocasset 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
