Staff must obtain education in a variety of subjects. These areas include caring for residents with impairment, abuse and neglect, infection control/prevention, and Alzheimer’s’ and dementia care. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every residents. There is a maximum occupancy of 2 residents per room. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include provide three meals a day, maintain a standard of food preparation that meets the needs of residents, and prepare meals and snacks based on the Food and Nutrition board’s recommended dietary allowances. Public assistance is available through 1115 Demonstration Waiver program–Managed Long-Term Services and Supports.
