Assisted living communities arrange organized living communities and assistance to your loved one who may need help with mobility or dressing. Assisted living communities usually offer care supervision, outings for organized activity, and assistance with transit and appointments. Under certain circumstances, communities may offer dementia care, continuing care, or hospice. In New Jersey, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $45,000 . Public assistance is available through 1115 Demonstration Waiver program–Managed Long-Term Services and Supports. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to guarantee their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as routines and preferences, plan updates regarding changes in physical or cognitive states, nursing needs, and a level of care assessment. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include assist with personal care, social work services, transportation, and pharmaceutical services. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include administer medication, supervise and assist with self-administration of medication, and monitor dosage.
