Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a nice balance between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with housekeeping. Residents may continue to live their lives as they desire while their food is cooked by a professional chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and recreational activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing care is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private health care professionals. There are an assortment of expenditures and advantages to consider while determining an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your plan: internet access, utilities, laundry, wellness program, move-in fee, meals, Waiting list deposit, and housekeeping. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include private rental hall, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, healthcare center, transportation, game/TV room, laundry service, and community activities.
