This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include pharmaceutical services, social work services, dietary services, and limited nursing care. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to guarantee their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as a health care assessment, plan updates regarding changes in physical or cognitive states, a level of care assessment, and nursing needs. Staff members obtain training in a variety of subjects. These areas include pain management, assisted living concepts, caring for residents with impairment, and emergency plans and procedures. Public assistance is available through 1115 Demonstration Waiver program–Managed Long-Term Services and Supports. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include prepare meals and snacks based on the Food and Nutrition board’s recommended dietary allowances, maintain a standard of food preparation that meets the needs of residents, and provide three meals a day.
