Assisted living communities offer organized living communities and health care for your loved one who might need a helping hand with things such as self-administering medication or mobility. The types of service offered often include help with activities of daily living. Residents may be kept under monitoring and assessment. These provisions include supervise and assist with self-administration of medication, administer medication, and monitor dosage. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include pharmaceutical services, social work services, assist with personal care, and transportation. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include prepare meals and snacks based on the Food and Nutrition board’s recommended dietary allowances, provide three meals a day, and maintain a standard of food preparation that meets the needs of residents. Public assistance is available through 1115 Demonstration Waiver program–Managed Long-Term Services and Supports. In total, there can be no more than 2 residents to a room. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every residents. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day.
