Assisted living communities usually offer support with daily activities, opportunities for recreational activity, and aid with transportation and appointments. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include prepare meals and snacks based on the Food and Nutrition board’s recommended dietary allowances, maintain a standard of food preparation that meets the needs of residents, and provide three meals a day. In total, there can be no more than 2 residents to a room. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every residents. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include limited nursing care, assist with personal care, dietary services, and pharmaceutical services. Public assistance is available through 1115 Demonstration Waiver program–Managed Long-Term Services and Supports. Staff must receive education in a variety of subjects. These include: residents rights, caring for residents with impairment, pain management, and emergency plans and procedures.
