The Division of Public Health Licensing Services, Bureau of Residential communities Licensing governs this type of community. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include meals must comply with therapeutic diets specified in their service plan, meals must meets the nutritional needs of residents, and communities must provide meals and snacks in accordance with federal dietary guidelines. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include assistance with self administration, monitoring of self-administration, and medication administration. Staff members obtain training in a variety of subjects. These include: in-service education, cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults, first-aid, and orientation that is specific to duties. Public assistance is available through Arizona Long-Term Care System (ALTCS).This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include supervisory care services, personal care services, activities to maximize functioning, and ancillary services. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to make sure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as The level of service the resident is expected to receive, the amount, type, and frequency of services that will be provided to the resident, and initial comprehensive mental and physical assessment.
