Assisted living communities arrange organized living communities and aid for people who may require support with everyday activities such as cooking meals or dressing. Assisted living communities frequently provide supervision of care, outings for organized activity, and support with daily activities. In select instances, communities may offer “aging in place”, respite, or dementia care. In Arizona, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $45,000 . The state of Arizona has specific rules related to this type of community. The Division of Public Health Licensing Services, Bureau of Residential communities Licensing regulates this type of community. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include directed care services, activities to maximize functioning, supervisory care services, and cognitive stimulation activities. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to make sure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as The level of service the resident is expected to receive, the amount, type, and frequency of services that will be provided to the resident, and initial comprehensive mental and physical assessment. Public assistance is available through Arizona Long-Term Care System (ALTCS). Staff members obtain training in a variety of subjects. These include: cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults, orientation that is specific to duties, in-service education, and first-aid.
