A great facility

I think that Fountain Gardens does a really nice job. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. They also looked for feedback from me on what might be the best way to care for my dad. I liked everything about it. The only thing I did not like was having to switch hospice companies and the new ones we had to use, they were terrible. Overall we were pleased with Fountain Gardens and would recommend the facility to others. If you have to place your loved one somewhere, this is a really good choice.

Good name for a good home

We were impressed with the home administrator, Jane [last name removed], the first time we visited the facility. She is a very positive, caring person. We also liked the homey atmosphere of the home and the nice backyard garden. Jane is communicative and proactive, letting us know how mom is doing and what she needs. It is the best place for my mom at the current stage of her life.

This community is pretty nice. They take good care of the residents, as far as any medical needs or issues. They don't let things go. If someone isn't feeling well, they address it and call the family or doctor as needed. The meals are very well planned, nutritious, and tasty. They don't seem to exercise the residents very much though, and I wish that would improve. Even if it's just a short walk along the patio. There also doesn't seem to be very many activities. Overall, I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Manager is never there and the other people don't speak English

Daniel who is the one who runs the place is the only one who speaks English so you can't hardly be friendly with someone you can't talk to. I was not happy with Daniel because he was never at that facility and my mother was left with the helper people who were not trained as caregivers. The could do basic things like helping people into a chair. If Daniel wasn't there then my mom was just left alone all day. The had two homes and every time I called or went over there he was out at the other one. I wasn't too happy at all.

Not a place for anyone

My father was a resident at Cyecrest Guest Home and our experience was terrible. The staff is not competent and can't do their job. For example: they called us for help when my father fell out of bed and they wouldn't call the fire department so we did. I would not recommend this facility to others.

Horrifying

On [date removed] my loved one was transported to Hoag Hospital Newport Beach to have a blocked Foley catheter changed. When it came time to discharge him around midnight there was no one awake at Fountain Gardens to unlock the door and get him to bed. This was a horrifying experience and very unsafe for the other residence in their time of need. The person who manages the facility has no compassion for anyone. When my loved one passed he never even called me to say sorry for your loss. It is all businesses for [name removed] and the other owners who will cut corners every way they can to make an extra buck. My loved one's room was paid in full till the [date removed] but passed on the [date removed]. By the [date removed]his personal belongings were in the garage and the room was rented. He refuses to pay the difference for the room he owes. Here is the license # [removed] I strongly suggest you review the reports and violations on the department of social services website.

This place is a dump!

This place is a DUMP!!!! Your loved one will die quickly here!! It's falling apart and no obvious repairs have been done in years and years. Many of these board and Care Homes are rentals, this one is, which are always the worst board and cares. The caregiving staff acts like they just came off the boat. They have a truly difficult time communicating with you and I bet they are not even making minimum wage. When I toured, first the front house, It was in disarray -- had not been cleaned in weeks. On a client or you would expect the care staff to be on their best behavior. The two caregivers are watching TV with their feet propped up on the table. It was just 5:00 PM. No one was attending to the residents and when I asked for a tour the gentleman told me "to walk around" and went back and put his feet back up on the table to watch TV. They were in their rooms -- JUST LYING LIFELESS IN THEIR BED. The house is licensed for 6 and only 2 residents -- which the poor things look very unloved and unattended. There was no dinner being prepared and no smell of food in the house. WHERE WAS THEIR DINNER? IT WAS 5 PM!!!!! I was startled at his lack of concern. He was that of a lazy night watchman at a rundown hotel. Never doing any work. The 5-star review of this place is definitely a bogus reviews by the owner in dire straights to get bodies in her homes. I spoke to her on the phone prior to the tour and she was so unconcerned with me, would not answer any questions about the home and care and just told me to "go see". This place is not fit for any uman and I'm surprised the state of CA has not revoked their license as yet. STAY AWAY
