This is a wonderful building not only is the building beautiful inside and out, it’s the staff that work in the building for the lovely residents. Most wonderful staff always greet you with a smile and always going above and beyond for whatever it is that you’re needing and asking for. They have the most amazing chef all the food that he prepares is gourmet it’s so delicious. I highly recommend this place even if you’re just driving out to stop in and say hi you will be thoroughly amazed.

My dad loves the food, the activities, and the staff. This period during Covid-19 has been very challenging for the residents, their families, and the staff. They have done a good job of keeping everyone safe and communicating with families.

Right as Mom moved in the Exec. Dir. was replaced. Several of the issues discussed with the previous E.D. have not been accurate. Our issues: 1)They do not make the beds everyday as we were told. 2)Laundry is not picked up on the same day each week, occasionally not at all. 3) The few movies they have played in their small theater have not been of interest to elderly. 4) They do not recycle. The food was exceptional at first, but is not always even room temperature. A new chef has been hired; several changes have been tried. Overall, it is the best. We have had a number of issues; but still feel it is the best. Bright, clean, and friendly staff! The staff is great. We especially like [name removed] who runs the front office. She is always friendly, and she follows through on promises!

More staff needed. Food still is better than anywhere else we saw. My mothers health has improved a ton since she has been there, but she is now self-managing meds because they could not seem to stay consistent in keeping them stocked and delivered at the proper times. But we experienced the same thing in Houston at what was supposed to be the #1 rated assisted living place in the Houston area. Centrally located if you live in Austin and want them nearby. Still very happy she is there and that we picked this one.

This has been a good convenient location for family to visit our loved one. The community is very accessible and the family is able to visit our loved one often. The staff are very friendly. They have themes available for holidays for the residents to participate in. There are three meals provided a day to the residents and they have choices to choose from.

This community was very beautiful but it was too new for the type of environment that I was looking for for my loved one.

We chose The Philomena because of the layout of the building it is all on one story. My loved one has a care plan and it did not get followed which is why the care got a 3. There is not good follow through when they make promises on the care plans. Every time I go, there are things that are not done that should have been. When I let people know, I get no response. It is frustrating when we pay the amount of money that we do and are not getting the care that is needed. My dad does absolutely love the caregivers that come in and knows all of their names, the individual people are great it is just the communication as a whole is where the issue lies. My dad is super happy here, there are just some things that I think need improvements.

They are very caring and take care of the patients pretty well at this community. They have activities like arts and crafts and bingo, and games to keep the residents busy. They also have get togethers and dances.

The meals are good but due to the turnover rate the dining service is a little slow. The appearance of the community it outstanding, it is fairly new so the cleanliness really stood out to us on our tour. The friendliness of the PR lady was really good. The staff even given the current circumstances have been really good.

SoCo Village is a beautiful brand new facility, it has such a bright and happy atmosphere. The staff members have been great and so have the care services. When we first moved our loved one in, we got to see her meal and it look delicious. It was a well executive and elevated sandwich, salad and soup. Our loved one has put on some healthy weight, and they have ice cream for her every night. Given the current circumstances the activities are still limited but our loved one gets extremely excited to do the puzzles and things of that nature. She seems much more engaged then before moving in, her eyes are lit up and she is overall healthier. They were very helpful with the whole transition process. However, the finance side of things have been a little disorganized and some of the staff members don't see as well versed on how to run a facility, but that could be due to the pandemic and being a new facility.

Beautiful place. New everything. Tastefully decorated. They put on a good show for the tour. Weekly housekeeping ( except holidays, except they don't put clothes away, except they try to not remake the bed, except that they rush in and out and it's a half [removed] job). Activity calendar with tons of options except they don't mention that many are cancelled because activity director is chronically missing....or that a staff member just walks in, turns on a YouTube video and leaves. Lovely menu....except that they're always running late. Except that food is sometimes served cold. Except that food is often overcooked and difficult to chew. Oh and the last head chef just walked out with no notice. Yes they administer meds but med techs are always quitting and the agency people don't know the residents. Meds are frequently late or waaaay too early. Staff doesn't always reorder meds in a timely manner and sometimes residents go without life savings meds for days.
