My mom has been at American House for over 2 years. The building is clean and beautiful. My mom's space is bright and cozy. She loves her apartment. Mom has a great relationship with the residents and staff. She enjoys the entertainment they bring in and the outings they go on weekly. It was not an easy decision to find a new place for mom to call home, but we have been happy with American House. Despite the changes over the years, mom is happy with her home there. I highly recommend taking a tour of American House if you are making the difficult decision of where to move your loved one who needs care beyond what you can provide.

I would say that my experience was and still is excellent and to trust your instincts. On my first tour I had a resident walk up to me and said "I just love it here" I picked this community because of the activities, the caring staff, pool, individual freedom, off site trips to restaurants, grocery shopping, cleanliness, restaurant style dining, size of the living space.

I have witnessed such kindness toward other residents and I know their job is not easy! My loved one's room is always clean. We are totally pleased with everything. It had everything she needs. It is fabulous and the care is awesome. She is very happy and doing so well.This is the place! It is like a resort. Food is great. You receive a menu and servers take your order. Staff is wonderful. Activities are many and great entertainment. She has a separate bedroom and kitchen which is wonderful. Housekeeping is great.

From what we have seen of the activities they look great, but our loved one does not participate in them. We gave the value for cost a 4 because it keeps increasing. The reason we gave #5 a lower rating is due to the lack of staff and not anything else! Honestly...it's location that we enjoy the most about the community! She is safe and happy there! We would recommend American House Cedarlake to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Came for a tour of American House on a whim one day as I was looking for placement for my grandmother. The tour was exceptional and I was intrigued by all the new renovations they have done. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone. They did not have an opening at the time I came to tour, which I could see why as this place is top notch!
