We loved this place. A lot of amenities. The place was clean and updated. The tour guide had her dog attend the tour- Mom would love that. She also greeted all the residents by name. The only downside was the studio apartment was so small. Only room for a twin bed with a lazy boy chair. Felt like a closet.

We all know that it is inevitable that we might have to move our loved ones into a an assisted living or nursing home facility one day, but that does not make it easier. After seeing dozens of places that quite frankly made us consider continuing to care for my mom ourselves (even though we know we couldn't provide her with the appropriate level of care), we settled on a place that was too expensive, did not offer the amenities she needed and that we were not excited to go visit, let alone put her there. Then we received a suggestion to check out Brookdale Margate at the last minute and EVERYTHING changed. Hemo, the sales director was awesome and was a real pleasure to work with. Virginia, the administrator was very organized and helpful. [Removed], the director, was a genuinely good person who loves his job and who really cares about making his place the best. Even the housekeeping employees and the maintenance men were so professional and willing to do whatever was needed to make her life better. The place was incredible, it was clean, the unit was so nice that I would live there and the services were EXACTLY what my mom needed. The rent was no more than if we rented her a similar apartment somewhere else without 24 medical supervision, skilled nurses, daily transportation, tons of activities and 3 incredible meals per day along with hundreds of amenities. For a reasonable additional fee they allowed us to pick and choose what mom needed (medication management, bathing assistance, oxygen storage, cable and internet, etc) and to exclude what she did not need right now. For the first time in several years, my mom was able to truly live and feel independent. Mom has a pendant around her neck in case she needs assistance and has nurses who manage her medication around the clock and check up on her. The base rent also includes housekeeping, laundry, linens and a bus to the bank, grocery store or doctors appointments and much more. She loves the apartment and after losing almost 100 pounds in a year, the food was so good that she ate more than she has at a single seating in a long time (and trust me when I tell you that mom is a very picky eater). She was able to bring her own furniture and make it her own, has 2 TVs with Comcast and Internet, a full kitchen with brand new appliances, a screened in patio with artificial grass, a separate bedroom with a huge walk-in closet, a very patient friendly bathroom and she even was able to bring her companion, a 5 pound Yorkie. Prior to the move, during the move and after the move everyone there has been so helpful and accommodating. They welcome all of the family including my 5 year old son to come hang out, go swimming, and no different than if she had her own apartment, she can invite her family and friends to stay there as long as they want and even overnight (up to 7 days at a time). My wife, my son and the entire family enjoys visiting and we love the people (all of the staff and the other residents) and the place. I truly believe that Brookdale Margate will add several years to my mother's life expectancy by giving her the ability to have a life again and that makes us all happy. Needless to say, I would highly recommend them to everyone who wants to help an aging loved one to live an independent life in their retirement.

We chose Sonata Memory Care facility at Tequesta Terrace for my father. They are well staffed with highly trained personnel and the facility was very clean and bright. They offer many activities to keep Dad's mind stimulated and I feel he will be in good hands here.

My parents were at Legacy at Highwoods Preserve for a respite stay and from what could tell, it was a good place. The staff was friendly and professional. I ate there once and the food was excellent. Everyone was very understanding.

I am considering a place for my independent mother. I was pleasantly surprised with Brookdale

I feel that my loved one is in a positive atmosphere. The staff always have a smile on their face. My loved one does say that the food doesn't have much taste to it. Cristina took care of an incident that we had in my loved ones room. The housekeeping is only done once a week. It would be good if they did it more than once because my loved is not able to clean anything and when we go visit the room is not very clean or organized.

My MIL just recently moved to this community and is doing excellent. The staff has called her by her name since the first day of moving in! Very friendly and trying their best to make her feel at home!

The moment I walked in to the community I knew I was standing in the best Assisted Living & Memory Care in Tampa. This community really understands customer service. Legacy At Highwoods Preserve has set the bar high for Senior Living. The community uses state of the art innovation in a modern setting to care for their Residents but never losing touch of a home-like feel. All of the people who work for this community are absolutley genuine and overwhelmingly compassionate.

They're in the middle of renovations. My client is under hospice and does not receive care services or activities. They could improve the most in customer service.

They have been wonderful. No complaints about anything. They have been just incredible. The attitude and friendliness of their staff has been particularly impressive. The personal approach with the clients is really nice to see. The head nurse Linda is phenomenal. They were being cautious when we first moved from a rehab, and giving her extra care, but they were quick to let me know when she didn't need it anymore, rather than waiting for me to say something. It's that kind of care and thoughtfulness that is displayed by all of the staff there.

They've been warm and welcoming and and have made my mom feel comfortable and at home.

Though we have not been there too long, so far we have had a very good experience with Brookdale Walnut. They have been really good for me and my mother. My mom is really new there and it has been an adjustment, but thus far things are going very well and I have confidence that it will continue to be so. The place is very clean and well kept and they have a lot of good activities to keep her engaged.

My mom was there only for four days at the Emeritus at Villa Colima, but our overall experience was great. I would rate them with 5 stars.

My mother has been there for almost a year. She likes her apt. with her own furniture and says it's comfy. The apts are much nicer than others in the vicinity and larger. She enjoys the movies every day and other events, especially bingo and art class. I think it's like a cruise on land! The other day she asked me, "Can I stay here forever?"

Everyone is very friendly and has "been there" before in this process to assure me that all the fears and concerns are normal.

So far we are extremely pleased! We just moved mom in and everyone at Villa Colima has been extremely helpful in every way. We are confident that we have made the right choice and this will be a new better life for mom!

This community is just great. We really like this community and everything are are providing for our loved ones. I like this community and think so highly of it that I would move in to this community myself. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is a nice facility somewhat hidden from a main street but that doesn't matter. We liked it very much. I will consider this one for a further, more detailed visit.

So far, our experience has been good. We did have some issues with billing in the beginning, which was fairly costly to me. It is a nice, high end place, which is what I wanted. The only issue is there is a lot of turnover in the staff, which means the same people we moved in with are no longer there. The new management really seems to be in charge of things and have done a good job with keeping the residents safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. They are good about communicating with us about my husband's care and let me know if there are any issues. The food is a little underwhelming. They do try to encourage my husband to participate in the activities.

Everything is going real good with my mom. We like the community and what they have to offer. Mom likes the food and the activities. We feel that they do a good job with cleaning the community and mom's room.
