Independent Living

For seniors who desire to live primarily without assistance but would like the benefit of having chores and housekeeping handled by professionalls, an Independent Living Community could be the perfect option. Frequent needs such as housekeeping and meal planning are accounted for, which provides residents more free time to live their lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between locations, numerous residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of private medical providers, they may always do so. There are a variety of benefits and expenditures to consider when selecting an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in the care plan: move-in fee, meals, field trips, transportation, Waiting list deposit, parking, utilities, and initial assessment fee. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include golf course, community activities, game/TV room, healthcare center, laundry service, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, and private rental hall.
