Assisted living communities arrange residential communities and aid for persons who might need a helping hand with things such as self-administering medication or dressing. Staff members obtain training in a variety of areas. These areas include residents’ rights, 10 hours of initial training within the first 4 weeks of employment and 4 additional hours annually, knowledge required to safely assist with prescribed medications, and how to recognize early signs of illness. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day.
